Span took Wada out to lead off the game. He did get Harper on a nice pitch.

Wada had a better AB then Ross..

Seriously what does Ross bring to this team on the field?

Please dont say he really really good at framing pitches..
That the case Lester be 9 n 0 with ERA at 2.oo and 90 Ks

I actually don't think he is great at framing pitches. I could be wrong, but my eyes tell me Montero is better.

so completely ignore the fact that ross is our backup catcher and has a .340 OBP huh? if youre complaining about the backup catcher that's a good sign I guess though, means the team overall is pretty darn good

I've been noticing the same thing. I mean if he's not a defensive dynamo...then he's completely useless.

Totally ignoring that. .

his OBP is based more on him batting in front of Lester and getting pitched around / walked, not because he a good hitter with a good eye...

its true he gets pitched around bc of where he bats....but you cant discredit his eye at the plate, he still has to take the pitches

So is the ump not giving Wada borderline strikes?

He can stand up there with his eyes close for all that matters, knowing pitchers arent going to throw him strikes.

A snapshot of that inning is all anyone needs to know why this guy at 33 is still bouncing back and forth from the minors to MLB.

Soler though he getting his singles and doubles, is way over due for a HR barrage. ...

He needs a week where he hits like 5 in 6 games

if he is the auto out that you make it sound like he is, then why wouldn't teams just get ross out and force lester to leadoff innings instead of end them? again, I agree he gets pitched around some, but he absolutely has great command of the strike zone. and again, if the backup catcher is what you have to complain about, then thank your lucky stars

With out Montero the bottom of the line up pretty much sucks. I'm to the point of thinking after Rizzo the line up ends and the pitchers can ease back.

Situational. Lester is an auto out. So a guy on 2nd or 3rd you walk him. man on 1st pitch to him. lead off pitch to him.

It is never 100% not pitch to him.
