How is he struggling? Tell me how he is struggling. It couldn't be that he has the 12th worst run support in the league. It couldn't be that his BABIP is .334. No, it couldn't be things that aren't in his control.

**** wins and losses

4.60 era and a 1.43 whip in the NL...thats the problem

So, an ERA near 4.60 is unlucky?

The fact that his FIP is 3.84 and that his ERA is 4.60.

Yep and I love a player that hustles. Byrd and Castro are the best at it on the Cubs.

Sarcasm.

I wasn't even talking about W-L, I am talking about how his FIP is better this year, yet the rest of his numbers are worse. It means that he is lucky. He is actually pitching better, he just doesn't have the run support or defense behind him.

What part of him having absolutely no control is unlucky?

How exactly does he have no control?

I'm guessing CO blocked me, and because of that can't see the post a few pages ago explaining why Wells has not been unlucky.

Well, that is true and not true. If you look at just his FIP and BABIP then yes he's gotten unlucky.

His tRA is 4.62, which is in line with his ERA.

His LD% is 22.1 right now, which has nothing to do with luck. IIRC that puts his xBABIP in the .340s anyway. So actually he hasn't gotten unlucky.

Sorry, didn't see your post. He has been unlucky this year though. It hasn't ALL been unlucky, but some of it is. He is throwing his heater too much and needs to throw more sliders, his best pitch. Regardless, he has been a good starter to have, especially for 400k.

Take Coleman out. He sucks and I wish how he got the start and not Cashner or someone else.

Castillo did not K, like Hill does.

Nice 2B by Baker. 2-1 Padres.

**** Stairs. Another play that the Cubs did not get.

Nice play by Ramirez. The defense is ACTUALLY keeping the Cubs in the game.

OF Sam Fuld recalled to take Lee's spot on the roster. Hoffpauir has to be in the minors at least 10 days after he was sent down.
