Tannehill's first 3 years as a starter
2012 - rating - 76.1, TD/Int ratio - 0.92
2013 - rating - 81.7, TD/Int ratio - 1.41
2014 - rating - 92.8, TD/Int ratio - 2.25
Tell me honestly after looking at each of those first 3 year stats, which player is trending upward and which player is trending downward?
What you said.
Tannehill is on his way up, on a team that was a mess- don't forget they pretty much lost their entire offensive line during his tenure.
He took over a shit team and it is steadily improving.
Cutler on the other hand jumped in to a great situation- The Broncos went 13-3 the year before despite having turnover prone plummer at the helm, Cutler stepped in when they were 7-4, and that was the last hope for the playoffs in Denver till tebow came to town.
I cannot think of a single attribute that Cutler brings to the table that is better than what Tannehill has- and the arm strength is irrelevant. Cutler is wildly inaccurate on the deep passes. Tannehill could likely spray the ball all over the field deep if he was stupid enough to risk the ints.
Tannehill isn't an amazing talent, but he will be far more consistant and successful than Cutler will ever be.
Simple choice.
