Only reason they make this move is if they intend to trade Foles. If they keep Foles, then this signing makes absolutely no sense. I'll take Foles 10/10 times on a cheaper deal and put that extra $10M to work elsewhere.

I actually don't believe Pace would really squander all of his financial flexibility on Andy Dalton. Its his job at stake and he knows it. There's gotta be something else here.

If they use the draft capital they would have in a Wilson type trade to jump up and get a rookie QB and snag that LT it could make a lot more sense. Still the Bears don’t have much cap space, so don’t see how that happens unless we cut a lot of salary.
