This is from a team that thought Tyler Bray was important enough to protect on their practice squad each week. A team who brought in Glennon, Foles and Trubisky,. A team that signed Chase Daniels to a 2 year contract worth 10 million with 7 of it guaranteed.

There is zero evidence that this team knows how to evaluate QB talent whether it is 1st, 2nd or 3rd stringer.
So does that mean Fields is gonna be a bust and bears fans shouldn’t be excited?

Dalton might turn out to be another bad signing but we don’t know until he actually plays for the Bears.
I don't think he will be a bad signing in fact ive a feeling it will be a pleasant surprise for all of us the only really big questions Oline if they dont hold up we are hosed again

I think Dalton will be about as good as Nick Foles was for us last year. Lots of short completions and not much room for the run game to succeed. Defenses will stack the box and we won't have much of an answer.

I'll be giddy if he's holding a clipboard come opening night....means fields blew away thr competition in camp and the future starts now.....and Dalton is slotted perfectly; as a vet backup qb

I believe if the OLine is decent to above average Dalton will be competent which is much more than Mitch could be mentally…

Am I the only one who thinks maybe he will be good in this system? I've a feeling we are in for a shock i want too see the new kid as much as everyone else but I've a sneaking suspicion Dalton will play well
No, you're not the only one. You even have people who think he will succeed but they don't want him to, so they never will admit that he can succeed in this system.

I've never been the qb fan boi type, but with Dalton only on a one year deal...Fields will start at some point regardless of how Dalton is doing.

That being said, I want the Bears to win over Fields starting and will not be rooting for Dalton to get benched or hurt if he's doing

Wow, a quality post from you that I also agree with.

Dalton is not going to be the reason we win any games. He had a loaded WR Corp and a better O-line in Dallas, what gives you a good feeling about less talent and possibly a worse o-line?

Just Homer speak...

I'm hopeful for just a somewhat competent offence, middle of the pack would be great with Dalton. But its more of what Nagy is doing that has me worried.

His OL was actual trash in Dallas
Yeah they were hit by the injury bug not only with the Starters but with the Backups, so they were rotating people trying to find a serviceable line up...

We were doing the exact same thing last year. How Coward was ever on the field is still baffling.

I do have hope that Daniels return along with Jenkins will help solidify our o-line, and finding out that Mustipher was actually better than Whitehair at center was a nice bonus.

Dalton needs more than a serviceable O-line to have any hope that he will not just be a game manager. That is his Ceiling at this point in his career.
