I just want to give rodman his due for what he did to bring three championships to the bulls and their fans.

I feel he is the greatest defender ever. He guarded jordan, bird, magic , worthy, shaq malone, mourning and frustrated all of them.

He's also arguably the greatest rebounder ever.

Just wanted to open this up for us bulls fans to chime in and tell how some of your favorite rodman moments.

Or even when he was a piston and what he did to get under your skin.

I think his number should be retired based on pure world-wide phenomenal impact. He's the only Bull to take the spotlight from Jordan for months at a time, when Mike was playing for the Bulls. Absolutely incredible.

Had to chip this in before hou repeats his usual, Norm should get retired, not Dennis rant :) But I would retire both of them.

I absolutely agree his number 91 should be retired. And he was s big as jordan world wide. I really feel he started the trend of tatooing as much of your body as possible. He was a trend setter

The moment that it finally hit me, that Rodman was actually bigger than Jordan for those strides, was when people wanted to trade their insert Jordan basketball cards for my common Rodman cards.

I mean, seriously? I'm glad I swallowed up those rarer inserts and just picked up more easy to get Rodmans later LOL!

Wouldn't mind if his number was retired.

But its hard to retire someones number when they only played for the team 3 years even though they won a championship all 3 years.

On the bright side I don't think you have to worry about anyone using his number. Unless Artest [oops, i meant Mecca World Peace] comes back to the Bulls.

My favorite hairstyle was the first one he wore when signing with the Bulls....The one with the Bulls logo cutout in the back of his head.....The one that was on the front page of the SunTimes when he first signed....:bulls:

Rodman was a great player, I enjoyed some of his antics with the Bulls, hated him as a Piston and didn't care for him much as a Spur. He should be recognized for going to the Hall of Fame by the Bulls. Retire his number?

No way...too many Bulls would have to get their numbers retired ahead of Rodman for that to happen. The Pistons got it right, he was 2 time DPOY and 2x all star with Detroit. Not only Norm but Artis Gillmore, Horace Grant and Chet Walker would all have to gain serious consideration. No way Reinsdorf does that...

As a Bull he was never as popular as Jordan worldwide in my opinion. I believe one person was more popular than Jordan...Michael Jackson. I don't even know if Bill Clinton was as famous as Jordan, let alone as popular.

I loved watching kids react to Rodman...that was always interesting...I remember the article the Sun Times did on people who owned the jerseys he threw in the crowd. He was a phenomenon in Chicago.

So how many years do you have to play with a team before you qualify for getting your number retired?

The guys you mentioned only played 6 years with the bulls. And they were solid players. But never hall of fame type players. And they never had the impact on the bulls that rodman did.

Rodman won 3 championships and had 3 rebounding titles with the bulls. He helped the bulls set the record for most wins in a season as well as the second most wins the following year. He along with jordan and pippen transformed the bulls into a rock group. He was still arguably a top 5 defender in the league even out to 98. I think he was blackballed by the league for the off the court stuff he did. And it cost him all defense awards for those years. As well as getting suspended for kicking that cameraman.

Let me ask you this.... did wilt deserve to have his number retired by the lakers?

This is why he was never ranked higher in the league. Understand the league is run by rich old republicans lol. They don't take kindly to this kind of a side show. I also think rodman pioneered the concept of any news is good news. He relished in being the bad guy so to speak. And being controversial.

LOL what does ones political view got to do with this. 99 percent of business owners, whatever their political views, would not want this attention. Its called common sense.

Your right. But you know older people tend to be more conservative. Him drssing in drag just made him look bad in my opinion.

Take me for instance. I'm 37 years old. Ill never get my mind around the fact that guys wear clothes (skinny jeans) that females used to wear in my day. The same with my father and some of the fads that were prvalent when I was a kidd etc.

LOL true. I absolutely loved Rodman. But if i were a rich owner, id TOTALLY hate his off court antics, no matter what my political views were. Thats all im saying. And while those old guys overall views may be extreme(just like some liberals are), you cant blame them for hating the image he gives off. Rodman is offending masses of people.
