Unless I misunderstood what Bullsman was saying, he seemed to be saying that anyone on the original Dream Team, save Christian Laettner was better than Rose.

You have the all-time leader in assists and steals being rejected for the Dream Team by Derrick Rose?

The all-time leader in assists and steals, Hou.

Might want to re-think that one.

Pretty sure Rose isn't going to retire having broken any records.

I personally would put Rose with Stockton at that point in their career...Stockton went to 4 allstar games, and didn't win an MVP like it seems Rose will. Stock played with Malone, there is no Karl Malone on this Bulls team...nobody close.

And why make up these different aliases? Its grating...

I'm talking real records. Statistical records.

If you judge the MVP by statistics Rose wouldn't even sniff it this year (inferior to LeBron's). The MVP voters are all about "Let's just give him the MVP because he's humble and it's a feel good story," or in the case of Kobe's "Let's just give it to him because he's never won it before and he can't retire having never won an MVP," or in Malone's, "We can't give it to Jordan every time so let's give it to someone else.")

Wake me when he leads the league in scoring, assists, blocks, rebounds, steals, or my personal favorite, shooting percentage.

How about record for youngest MVP? ;)

We are talking 1992...you are the one confused here. In 1992, the leader in assists was Magic Johnson...again, its unfair to look back in hindsight after Rose has only played 3 years. We can only go off of what has been done over Rose's 3 years and Stockton's first 7 or 8 years. Its unfair to Rose.

Are you not the one who has stated that Rose is MVP after people argued with you???

Yes, but it was only one person who did it (Kush) and I accepted it then but after thinking about it, and taking a long hard look at the statistical facts, I have realized that overall, LeBron James is far more valuable than Derrick Rose.

I have no doubt that Rose will be deserving of the MVP in the future but LeBron is exceedingly more deserving THIS year (maybe not next).

But similar to when they gave it to Malone over Jordan, they have to give the MVP to someone else just for some variety and the subjectivity of it disgusts me.

Steve Nash had his best year in 06-07, but as I said then, he could have averaged 30 ppg, 30 apg, 30 rpg, 30 bpg, end the war and find the cure to cancer and they STILL wouldn't give him a 3rd straight MVP even if he was deserving.

You can't tell me a guy who shot 42 from the field is the player of the month over a guy who shot 58 percent. Neither can you tell me (if you look at the facts) that Rose is more valuable to his team than LeBron is.

If you take Rose off the Bulls, they're still the best defense in the league with or without him and defense, as they say, wins championships.

Are you not the one who has stated that Rose is MVP after people argued with you???

I can say that Dwight is more valuable to the Magic than Lebron is to the Heat this year...without hesitation. That said, I explained above why Rose has won the MVP so I would rather not go back into all of that. Style points count and Lebron lost some on the big stage...not necessarily fair but that is the case...

I was laughing hysterically at Frank's posts in this thread. Then I laughed some more upon reading him literally have a conversation with HIMSELF!

Isiah Thomas didn't make the Dream Team because the other players did not want him on the team. And, by the way, Derrick Rose is arguably having a more dominant season than Isiah ever did.

Chris Mullin would not have been on that team if Rose of 2011 was in the league then. And Reggie Miller was NEVER close to the player Rose is today. To suggest that even he would have been a better choice than Rose is propostrous. Shaquille O'Neal was practically a baby in 1992 and unproven. Hell, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were shells of their former selves in '92. Dominque Wilkens didn't make the team mainly because he was also at the end of his career and never was in the caliber of Johnson or Bird. Pippen? Stockton? Rose is having a better regular season right now than either of them ever did. I'm not trying to disrespect Scottie, Isiah, or Stockton (who are two former All-star game MVPs)... And don't get me started on Ewing... Dwight Howard is easily better than that guy. Frank has no sophisticated thought processes when it comes to how the game of basketball is played or what he is watching to suggest that the talent in 1992 was better than it is now. Hell, that Dream Team bridges two generations in the NBA. Those were marquee names and not all of them were in their primes.
