4400 pds. That is crazy. And......it would still be in my rearview if it rolled up on me. :)

I don't like anything Chrysler is doing now. The Challenger is the best retro-revision car of them all, when it comes to design accuracy. But the technology is still behind everyone else. Which is too bad, I'm not fanboy, and would like to see Chrysler come out and succeed. Which is why they build cars like this, to get headlines. Otherwise, it would be difficult to grab attention through word of mouth.

I can't get past the weight, 4400 pds. That is almost exactly 1000 pds more than my car and my car was considered a pig. The GT500 weighs I believe 3800 pds.

That's kind of the norm. Compared to a 70 Challenger, it's not that much heavier, has a ton more power, and gets better gas mileage. But then again, that is the problem with Chrysler. They are stuck in the 70s with most of their designs, and fall back onto Mitsubishi engineering for everything else(outdated engineering, I might add).

It's amazing to see how many people believe the new Dart is not a Neon. I mean, seriously, that is how far a name can go. Even when Ford tried to retro-revision the Thunderbird, people knew it was Lincoln LS with cut corners.

Oh, and I had a 97 Supra Turbo. I agree. At the time, it was considered piggish and thrown into a luxury sport class. Awesome car, made me a nice penny on resale.

No doubt. Fun cars!

I just don't understand the logic. I love the power it makes but why not try to shave some weight. What you said though makes sense....the HP numbers are about attention. It grabs headlines. The car isn't about being the best it is about bringing attention to the brand.

Don't get me started on the Dart. lol. I remember when the SRT4 Neons, yeah, I said NEON came out. None of the owners wanted them to be called Neons. Their defense was that it was not anywhere on the car or manual. I usually fired back that if the car was a debadged Viper that they would call it a Viper. It was the Neon stigma they were avoiding. Everyone knew the SRT4 was a Neon.

I keep waiting for the day that people stop attributing weight to safety, and SUVs to practical daily drivers.

They're too late to the game....as fucking usual.

Likely have to have a mullet to qualify for purchase.
