Does anyone know what constitutes roughing the passer?

The rule that bugs me the most is when qbs scramble. If they start to slide feet first you can't hit them and if they start to go out of bounds defenses back off. Rodgers takes advantage of the last rule all the time as he routinely turns it up field for a bigger play.

In my opinion, if you leave the pocket and are going to act like a running back, you should be treated like a running back. No special privilege should be given. Runner beware.

This crap with the qbs is a joke, the knee thing especially, as it was invented because Brady tore his acl because his teams were running up scores.

The media liked the spin it was created after Brady, but that's completely false. Actually the Brady issue was clarifying the rule more, through in the wording as Monk mentioned above, the hit on Brady wasn't illegal because the guy was pushed to the ground in his attempts to get to Brady... and that happened week 1 while they were in no way running up scores.

The rule was really more established in it's form after the 05 season when Carson Palmer got injured his first playoff snap by a guy hitting him down low.

Okay? None of this addresses the point of my post. As to the Brady hit, yes it was week one, but take a look at the previous year in every game they could have run up.

There's nothing sensible to say Bernard Pollard went Brady at a low spot because the year before the Patriots were undefeated and running up scores... he was pushed to the ground by the blocker and trying to fight through that to get to Brady. It was the middle of the game and it's not like there is any way a connection to that can be drawn up by that hit. Unless you just think running up scores a season prior makes a guy justified to be hurt.

Yes, it doesn't address your point. So what? You said more than merely your point you know. I'm addressing just misconstrued claims that mainly were persisted by the media calling it the "brady rule" and acting themselves as if it was implemented because of him when that's not the actual NFL history.

Sorry for answering a question with a question, but which QB are you asking the question about?

The grid is fairly simple:
Manning - Penalty
Brady - Penalty + Suspension
Rivers - Casual look away
Cutler - High five to the defensive player

This is great. But you forgot:

Rodgers - Penalty + Terrible spots the rest of the game + All pass interference calls ignored
