My dog has been dead since August. It's time for a new dog. I've had Dobermans, German shep, St Bernie, bull mastiff mix and some mutts. A good friend of mine breeds champion dogs. He said I could have my pick. This week 2 of his dogs boarded a jet to their new homes. Bloodhounds. Bad ass dogs
.

That is AWESOME. My next dog is going to be a bloodhound. Unless it's cheap to clone by the time my pit-mix dies.

My GSD died about 4 years ago. I was super attached to him and swore I would never get another dog / go through that again. Anyways, just got another one like a month ago. She is awesome. Will post pics later.

I've got two small dogs. A black maltipoo for my wife, which was worth it because she absolutely adores that dog. And a maltese that we got because my wife's step mom couldn't take care of it. I want an Italian mastiff at some point.

Here's me in my younger days with my pooch as a tween. She's 80 lbs of muscledog and still has 3-5 more years in her. I'm going to be sad when she's gone.

Why anyone would ever get a cat over a dog I'll never know. Dogs truly are mans best friend. Glad you're getting a new one and sorry for the loss of your old one.

Is it just me or do they kinda look alike?

We do share the energy level, tenacity and possibly pain threshold. Back when this picture was taken, my right eyeball had recently visited the outside of its socket. My grin is probably due to some prescribed narcotic.

My fav are mutts that have some german shepard in em

But I was at the pet store this week and it was adoption day, and this one dog there... holy shit I almost got him cause I could tell he was special. Dude was probably ~4-5 months old. Looked like he would grow to a medium size. Was a mutt, colored with brown and dark brown markings like a cross between coyote and shepard.

But damn, this dog wasn't in a cage. It was laying on a little towel and just chillin. But it was alert. Dude was tracking people as they walked by, just watching and paying attention. But he never got excited and never got up. With all the caged dogs barking and people walking by with their own dogs on leashes... dude just chilled like no big deal. And he wasn't oblivious. Like I said, was very calm, but still aware of what was going on around him. Too bad I travel around too much cause I woulda brought him home. It was obvious he was a special dog.

I think secretly (or not so secretly actually), every guy wishes he could be a dog. I do.
