Might be a precaution. The last play before the I-Cubs went up to bat prior to Rizzo leaving was a throw to first base fielded by Rizzo. No clue whether he was hurt or if they're doing something desperate.
As far as I could tell they rarely debut a new Cub prospect at home so I think it's a longshot that Rizzo would be called up.

I don't think home is a real factor, and we have a new regime that hasn't called up a too prospect before, but I'd assume it was a precaution as you said.
