It looks like Vitters may be the guy that makes the most sense to call up this year? With Stewart hitting poorly and Vitters starting to put together an average season, with decent walk and strikeout ratios.

Rizzo will be called up soon. LaHair will probably move to the OF, but I am sure the Cubs wouldn't mind a team falling in love with his lefty power bat and offering a ton for the couple months of hitting he has done. Jackson will be here at some point as well because CF hasn't exactly been a plus offensive spot in the lineup either. I think Vitters will get some more work in AAA before a callup happens because while there are a lot of positives there. His line is less than impressive in the very hitter friendly PCL.

Stats wise, I agree, that Rizzo should be here. But there is an albatross contract in Soriano preventing that.

I see Vitters as more likely because only Stewart is in his way.

I am very sure of the fact that Rizzo will be here sooner than Vitters. I think Soriano has done enough with the bat to allow the Cubs to eat 95% of the contract and move him. Even if they can't move Soriano they will find a way to get him here. DeJesus could move to CF for example. That would be a terrible defensive OF, but Rizzo will be here in the next month and a half. I doubt that Vitters is on the same timetable.

Vitters is only 22. He needs to:

1. Play better defense

2. Be more patient at the plate

3. Hit for more power if he wants to be anything more than a utility player

I think he'll probably get a September call-up since he's on the 40-man and that'll be about it.

Or maybe more, good gravy...Rizzo was just replaced in Iowa by Blake Lalli, injury issue, possibly his knee. F.

If Rizzo is out for a significant amount of time with a knee/leg injury than god officially hates us.
