Stand back, #Blackhawks nation. The Campbell rumor is just that--a rumor. Lot of them flying around.

Wouldn't he have to cite Columbus as one of his acceptable trade locations?

Now I see he said no to waiving his NTC. I was under the impression that he HAD to give the Hawks a list of acceptable teams if he asks. Is it mandatory if the hawks ask or is it his choice?

I would expect a trade at some point tonight.

Is that a trade by any team, a trade by the Hawks, or a trade involving Brian Campbell?

sorry,

I would expect a move by the Hawks. Or am expecting a move by the Hawks.

It's no coincidence Campbell is here working his ass off to show to the Organization he still has desire. He doesn't want to move. His Fiancee is from Chicago.

And really if his cap hit were 4-4.5 Hawk fans, or most, would be pissed if he were moved. He's roughly 2.5 mil over paid. That said I'm not sure we win the Stanley Cup without him.

Honestly, the Hawks don't win with out him. No question. The team was completely different with him out of the lineup. However, he is overpaid and the Hawks need cap space at this point and while I would miss him on the blueline, I would support a trade if made.

Well that's two fold. One, they would have to take some type of similar contract back for most teams. And most teams I mean the ones he'd likely say yes too. Second we have enough cap space this year to fix the 1-2 holes or areas they needed help from last season to this.

I guess the most important thing though in two more seasons he will be HUGELY over paid as his skill set will have declined. He's not Lidstrom and will tick till 40 without missing a huge step.

I dont want ANY of our top 6 D moved. We still have the best D Corps in the NHL, why change it. They had an off year, Keith admitted his heart wasnt in it. I expect better play out of our D this year. Dont move a single soul on our D.

I wouldn't mind using that cap space for the future whether it be a FA or just a bit of room incase we need it.

I agree Supra but at this point it's all about the money. Campbell will only decline and that 7 mil will always stay 7mil. If you can free it, and save Cap room, for not just now but the next four years, you have to do it.

Also our biggest line of missing depth is Center. That MUST be addressed this off season. You can not put a rookie there.
