You missed the point. Nobody is saying Hostetler is better because he won a SB. I’m asking was Brees’s talent wasted by the Saints.
The Dolphins definitely wasted a great opportunity during Marino’s prime.

No, they didnt waste it. They were perennial playoff team and were all in the last 4 years for a super bowl. They only won one, but it wasnt for a lack of trying and they are a blown PI away from going to another one. They were just some bad breaks, but the Saints wasted nothing.

I think he's easily top ten. Not top five, but maybe he can be depending on your criteria. Either way, many people have played quarterback and we can all agree Drew Brees is in the top percentile.

Winning a title is brutally difficult. Especially when the Patriots hogged over a third of them for themselves. Not a waste at all, do you remember what the Saints were like before Brees came along? They were basically Browns/Lions/Jags tier hopeless.

Just like it my opinion that the Bears wasted an historical defense in the mid 80’s. That team should have won 3 Super Bowls. It’s arguable the 86 defense was better than the 85.
