The Bears defense scored as many touchdowns as it allowed last week. I don't care what some irrelevant stat says.

“I think me and Coach Trestman are probably the only two people who understand each other,” Bennett said earlier this week on WMVP-AM 1000 in Chicago. “I always say Coach Trestman reminds me of the first Willy Wonka. Not the Johnny Depp one; the Johnny Depp one was really cool. But the first one. Before that. The 1943 version.”

That's right, we are the Wonka Bears!! Woohoooo

I think 4 games though and an evaluation of our D is in order. Yay or Nay.

It's waaaayyy too early to draw so many conclusions.

I was happy with the coaching change, and am happy with what I have seen so far. I am not as panicked about the D as others, and am also not ready to assume we're the world's greatest offense. (Last year, after trading for Marshall and drafting Jeffery we scored 41 in Week 1 while not looking in sync.....how'd that turn out?)

But I am pleased with the hire of an offensive coach in general, and Trestman specifically. I am quite confident the offense will be good all season and getting better as weeks go by.

I also am one who agreed it was time for Lovie to go, but I refuse to blame everything on Lovie, and keep pretending everything was horrible then and perfect now.

What I guess I am saying is - I love the way things appear to be headed, but let's all keep things objective. And two weeks is too short a period to draw too many conclusions.

Now, let's go destroy the Steelers in Pittsburgh, and I will start to change that tune! :)

When you said after analysis, wut did you mean?

I find it hard to believe the Bears defense will remain below average for the entire season and if they do I will be on the fire Mel Tucker wagon.
Any team that is average or above in BOTH Offensive and Defensive DSR has a 89% winning percentage and after analysis I see the Bears offense remaining above average and the Defense being no worse than average.

Championship....:fap:

I know its only two games but after watching the Marc Trestman offense and Kromer offensive line, that takes advantage of Phil Emery's added new talent, I have zero doubt they will remain above average.

My personal analysis says if anything this offense will only get better.

These are the analyses I was referring to. Not FO.

Um, I don't know try reading my signature I guess...

Stats are DATA not unquestionable proof of any one specific truth. My OP states that DSR is one of the FEW stats that I like because people sometimes think stats tell the whole story when they don't. I have watched football 20+ years and know what a good player or quality offense/defense looks like I guess I'm blessed with common sense. After considering the stats, observing the talent on the roster, and watching the team's new system in action for 4 preason games and 2 regular season games, common sense tells me the team will continue to improve through the season. Thus MY analysis tells me this team's offense should remain at least at the same level they are currently playing (above average) and the defense should eventually return to being average at worst.

Maybe you could tell me what common sense or YOUR analysis tells you, if you think mine is completely off base.
