Duncan Keith's pending suspension

Kerry Fraser has a very good take on both. Both worthy of suspension. Not sure people realize how hard Keith his the ice. But hey, he retaliated.

And he's been suspended twice in his 10 year career. The last being Jun 2013, so it's been close to 3 years. There haven't been "recent suspensions the last couple of years".

Do we know if Coyle is having any trauma post-assault? I worry he might have like PTSD or something like that.

If nothing else Keith should offer to pay for any mental health treatments Coyle requires to recover from this tragedy.

A slap on the wrist for what he did.... I would suspend him the remainder of the regular season, the playoffs, and maybe 20-30 games next season.

6 or 7 games is a slap on the wrist, this was the worst thing I've ever seen done on the ice in an NHL game

To be fair, and I wonder if the league evens considers the fact that Keith was retaliating for Coyle's slew foot (which is a dangerous Dick move) that took place right before DK whacked him back. Too many times that slew foot or other infractions are totally missed by officials, which doesn't make what Keith did OK.

Hmmm I did see a sequence where they missed 3 penalties in a row by Minnesota and then called the 4th (high stick)... so I suppose it is possible they missed Coyle's minor infraction.

Slaps on the wrist are common in the NHL. Going back over the years there have been multiple dirt bag infractions that have resulted with no punishment or a game or 2 suspension. The NHL, IMHO has never been consistent in their disciplinary action.

This is one of only 2 times I've seen attempted murder happen on the ice though... I get you're a hawks fan, as am i, but murder isn't okay. Even if Keith is rocking the Indian head.

I wonder if there will be dropoff in tv ratings for the hawks games now. I, for one, will not be watching until the proper actions are taken by the league (or law enforcement) to correct the situation. I cant, in good nature, support this kind of shiznit.
