SR: Do you think that the drive to represent, on an iconic level, will be a factor in your free agency? Do you see yourself in a much larger market?

DH: There's more you can do in a bigger place. I'm stuck in a tough position because I feel like right now, where I'm at, I've done so much. And I just don't know what else I can do. I can't live for everybody else. I don't know what decision I'm gonna make as of right now. It's been crazy. Everybody wants me to come here, come play here, come to our team, do this. It's a great feeling, though, to be wanted.

SR: You're gone. I can feel it.

DH: The toughest part for me is the city - the people. They've got burgers named after me in Orlando, they've got a Web site saying, "Please stay." I love the people in the city. I've literally sat on the bench with a towel on my head crying, because I feel the passion in the stands. I just think about what's going to be best for what I want to accomplish in my life. And I don't want that door to close on me, wherever that door is. I don't want it to close.

Yeah, it sounds like Howard is going somewhere else next season... whenever that may be.

If a team were to trade for him, it would be a team that is good enough to make the playoffs...

So i can see the Hornets trying to trade for him to keep CP happy... maybe giving up Okafor and West + picks.

Atlanta I can see trading for him so they can move Horford to PF... maybe they package Josh Smith with someone else for Dwight.

the Lakers would offer Bynum and Odom, but I dought the Magic accept that. I wouldn't want an injury prone C and a declining PF/SF.

The Bulls could trade for him.. but it would probably be Boozer/Noah for Howard.. Idk how that would wor out.

I just hope that if he does get dealt, it wouldn't take as long as the melo trade

I would trade anything but Rose to get Dwight Howard...period. He is better than Noah and Boozer combined.

if the Magic would accept Noah/Boozer/our first round picks for Howard... then yeah, the Bulls should do it in a heart beat.

yeah Idk if they would. That's why I mentioned throwing in a couple of first round picks.

But the Magic aren't gonna get a much better offer. Teams aren't gonna gut their teams the same way NY did to get Melo.

The Magic would still be a playoff team with their current roster minus Howard, plus Noah and Boozer. They won't win the title, but they didn't win it with Howard either... and they're running out of moves to help build the team around howard

My guess is the Celtics, Mavericks, Nets, Bulls, or Lakers land a trade for him.

And there is no chance in hell the Bulls land Dwight Howard without giving up both Deng and Noah and either Taj Gibson or Omer Asik. But personally, I'd do it.

I would say Atlanta has a chance at Dwight Howard too. But I just don't see the Magic trading Dwight to a team that is in the same division. Joe Johnson+Al Horford would be a nice return though.

ATL would never give up JJ and Horford for Howard. That's too much.

I find it hard to believe that they'd trade him inside of the division too though... and it would take Horford and JJ to probably convince ORL to actually do it.

I'd be interested to see how the money would match up. They'd more than likely want Noah/Taj/and or Omer plus picks.

While I would hate to see Taj go....I do that trade in a second.

Boozer isn't that valuable of a trade asset for us because he's not going to get any better and his contract.

Deng would be tough to shoe horn into the trade as well because of the money issues.

and this is why we are in a lockout this league is getting so ridiculous and hopefully the new CBA will help fix this and other competitive balance issues. They need to add that Melo rule ASAP.

Dwight is the best player in basketball for his position you really cant overpay he is a dominate defender rebounder and even becoming a great post player.

the trade would have to be JJ and AL for Dwight and Arenas to get money to match and that would be fair.

Let's take a look at the ATL team is that trade were to happen.

PG: Kirk Hinrich, Jeff Teague, Gilbert Arenas
SG: ? Gilbert?
SF: Marvin Williams, Pape Sy
PF: Josh Smith
C: Dwight Howard, Zaza Pachulia

That's if they don't resign Jamal Crawford, which they probably won't do... do you really think it's worth trading for Howard if your team is gonna look like that? Arenas hasn't been good in 4 years and has a terrible contract. Josh smith is more of a SF imo and is crazy inconsistent on offense. Marvin Williams is nothing more than a bench player. Kirk is a good defender, but isn't a dominant force on O.

Josh Smith might be the dumbest player in the NBA.

The biggest problem is that Paxson has had a bad habit of overpaying his guys like Noah, Deng and Boozer....Makes it a lot tougher to trade those guys......maybe the most realistic solution is to just sign a decent 2guard and roll with what we are stuck with......JR Smith shouuld be available again when the season starts next year.

If we offered Luol Deng (borderline top 10 SF with a not-so-distant expiring contract), Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Omer Asik, Kyle Korver, and a 1st round pick for Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu (and his massive contract),

...I don't see how ORL could refuse

ORL:
C: Noah, Asik
PF: Gibson, Ryan Anderson, Brandon Bass
SF: Deng, Clark (4)
SG: J.J. Redick, Kyle Korver
PG: Gilbert Arenas (2), Jameer Nelson, C.J. Watson

CHI:
C: Howard
PF: Boozer
SF: Turkoglu, Brewer (2)
SG: Bogans
PG: Rose, Lucas

Maybe the Bulls could get back Brandon Bass or Earl Clark in the deal as well. ORL wouldn't miss them.
