Eberflus Coaching in 2024?

I think it’s pretty much a given that Flus is a dead man walking.
Unless something miraculous happens... nah. I'm a patient optimist on hires and drafts but that patience has run out on the top guys on this staff. I think some of the position coaches are actually pretty good but it doesn't matter with these schemes and playcallers.

Zac Taylor was 6-25-1 in his 1st 2 seasons

I get that but there are exceptions to the rules. I’d wager Eberflus is gone. Without looking up Taylor’s record, this Bears team may be getting worse. I don’t know if Taylor’s team got worse before they got better. Oh, and Justin Fields is not Joe Burrow.

I don’t want Flus back but just pointing out that Taylor was phenomenally bad and Burrow wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire in his 1st year(but was exponentially better than Fields was).

You aren’t wrong. Stranger things have happened especially when considering it is the Bears.

Shut your mouth. We don’t need your negativity lol
Hey, I don't want him around as his teams are usually as inconsistent and unprepared as his qb; I think his ship has sailed.

But these are the Bears and McCaskeys...any inkling of "improvement" (esp beating gb final week) might cause those mush brains to consider keeping him.

I think now that he has a legitimate quarterback and not a glorified kick returner back there trying to read coverages - we’re starting to see the Ws stack up. Bagent’s ability to elevate not only the players around him but even the coaches may be the saving grace for this staff.

Wins are stacking up for this 2-5 team. Wow thanks for that bud

I can’t be the only one getting the feeling that Eberflus will probably stick around next year. It just seems like a McCaskey move. Improving from 3 wins to 5 wins will make those morons think the team is headed in the right direction. Winning is good and all but if you look at the big picture, it might lead us to another wasted year with a lame duck HC in 2024.
It's a pretty bold assumption to think they get to 5 wins. Hopefully Warren steps in and starts showing why he was hired. Even in the two games the Bears won, I don't think the coaching had as much to do with it as the opponents they played

I’m hoping for a full clean sweep from GM down (#flushtheflus). Poles did well with dismantling the team, but everything else he’s been subpar. From his acquisitions (including coaching, culture, FA, and drafts), he doesn’t inspire confidence in building a sustainable, winning team. Let Kevin Warren pick his GM, GM pick his HC (innovative offensive mind preferably from the Kyle Shanahan tree), and HC pick his staff. You know? The orthodox, conventional way to build a staff.

Will that happen? Probably not. But a mouth-breathing Internet boy can dream…

Why do that when hiring the HC, then the GM, then the CEO has been so successful?

With the coaching staff, I give them the same benefit as I give Fields , 10 games left to prove what you got. No change during season.

Yep.

I can't stand him as HC, but I also admit his defense is a year behind on this rebuild while the Bears tried to build around a quarterback for a change.

If he can win at least six of these last ten, that would be 8 wins in the final 12 game stretch, you can sell me on giving Eberflus another shot. Especially if the defense swings up.

I'd still appreciate a better OC. Maybe the Pack fire Lafleur and Getsy can just be demoted back to QB coach.

Not me, I've seen enough of Flus. I didn't like the hire when it happened.
