So u didn't watch what Eberflus said and the thread is about Eberflus on Fields
I see you've gotten your Biden crack pipe already.

I saw the Eberflus video when it came out the first time. I don't give a shit that he didn't gush about Fields being the guy.
After anointing people all the time wouldn't you rather a coach come in and make a young player bust his ass to win the position.
If Fields is going to be a leader he'll come in and kick ass. regardless if a coach publicly anoints him or not in his second year.

I don't know why u brought up biden. I have no ties to him nor "crack pipes".
Anyway....bottom line JF needs to be developed. He can't developed himself.
In the 2nd vid flu talks about giving JF a D perspective.

Flus said Fields is our first rd pick this year. That means he’s the guy they choose. But just like any young player, he has to EARN IT first. No HC worth anything is going to gush and say Fields is the franchise QB yet, nor should they.

But if you think they means they aren’t enamored with his potential and skill set…

I think when they had Fields come out and speak after the new hires tells you all you need to know.

Coaches in this case are tasked with effectively developing and creating an offense around JF. Since it didn't get done under Nagy
A player can overcome coaching. A coach cannot overcome a player. You want both but the Player is the key that allows you to unlock that door.

you need to answer why other Pats coaches didn't have to prove themselves away from Brady vs Leftwich.
Leftwich was 4-12 before Brady and it was rumored that Brady caused the change in philosophy midway through 2020 after the Bear loss. Could be happenstance but why he isn't yet elevated. Maybe wrongly, maybe not. McDaniels also went 10-5 with Cassel. He proved to be a bad HC. He's now got another chance due to Mac Jones play last year. Personally, I'm glad that's not here.

in the first video, I wonder why Flus didn't answer the question directly.

Maybe because its from the press conference where he was hired, had just taken the job, and barely had a chance to talk to Fields other than "hi, how ya doin" thanks to league rules?

Is his advice going to be focused on what NOT to do?

I hope he does not go down that path, because that will have Fields hesitating and guessing, instead of using his instincts.

The Coaches( or why have them) unlock that door and the player walks through. Some Qb's never walk through i.e. cutler.

Very rarely does a Qb overcome substandard development and a substandard offensive system that doesn't fit the talent and player attributes. We've seen this happen in the previous regime with several Qb's.....mainly Trubisky.
Now we're on our second coaching staff in what....4yrs. You've been around. I'm sure you've seen lots of players improperly developed.

I can think of only 2 Qb's who rose above coaching & made themselves better..... Wilson and Brady. But clearly those are the exceptions.

It takes some effort to ignore the fact that the Bears are all in on Fields. They put him out there for a presser. Why would anyone take the job if they weren't also on board?

And honestly from a journalistic POV, it's not a great question. A new head coach isn't going to answer yes or no. He hasn't established a relationship with the player yet so he can only speak in general terms. He opened up to talk about the plan for every player because all he can talk about is his process.

If the reporter wanted a better answer, he should have asked "What attracted you to the Bears HC position? How did Justin Fields factor into that?"
