Glad we didnt give up a 5th for Vedvik. Just missed a 40 yarder near the end of the half that would have given the Vikes the lead...

Career 62 percent field goal kickers don’t become great just because they had a good preseason game or two.

Maybe this was an aberration and he really is awesome—but I’d need to see more evidence to dismiss his history.

Not buying it. You don’t trade a 5th round pick for a punter.

True, but the draft pick is gone. It’s a sunk cost. If he can be a good punter but not a good kicker, keeping him on as a punter is probably preferable to cutting him.
