Switzerland just gave a clinic on what not to do for PK's. Truly awful attempts here. It was like watching Trubisky trying to make the right decision in an RPO.
Spain exposed themselves as a national embarrassment before it got to that, failing to control play against 10 man Switzerland. Showing one minute of urgency in regulation. Showing no fire to finish the game until the final 15 when they lost momentum amid an influx of subs and formation changes.
If you can't control play against 10 man Switzerland and protect your ass, then you can't control this Italian squad who is fired up.
I guess Spain could be built to counter elite teams, and have just struggled to finish against the inferior in tilted affairs. It will be interesting to see what their attack looks like against an opponent who will push numbers forward. I doubt the Italians choose to respect them much, and instead run them off the ball and come full force like the first half against Belgium.
