You obviously don't buy and trade stocks. LOL

As for the serve em right? Really? Guess you don't have a clue what an IRA is and how you can move up and down in that investment. Very narrow minded there Jako.

I know a couple of people that are upside down right now. **** em they deserve it for trying to better their investment. Yikes.

I was more referring to the asshats that thought they would become all rich and shit off of investing in an internet thing. Is it even a business? I spose, but not in the classic sense. If you don't learn from past mistakes, I can't feel sorry for you.

Nope. I have no stock, no investments, none of that. If you can make a living and are able to retire and live off those, fantastic. I applaud anyone who can do that. However, so many people out there think they can do that, and they can't, and as such, lose their shirt. Then they blame it on everything else but themselves. Yes, in that case, it serves em right.

It is a form of gambling. I don't feel bad for people that lost their 401k at the craps table.

In case you can't tell, I don't trust the stock market, and thus, it can go **** itself.

Well I have an IRA and you bet your ass I've grown it. It's my money. It's money I've earned.

Just like the folks I know who are upside down. If you had an IRA and sat there and did nothing with it, you'd be a dumb ****. Then again what are you going to retire on Jako? SS? It won't be around when you get there.

It is a bad investment right now. More and more people are using their cell phones over computers, especially the younger set that uses Facebook more then other age group. Facebook hasn't figured out how to advertise (make money) from the cell phone usage.

Facebook will have to prove they are a strong enough and evolve enough to make money in the long term.

I think a lot of people aren't separating the company they like with the investment that should be made. That is a recipe for losing your ass. Investing in a company that you believe in is one thing. If you are investing to make money, then you throw your money at a business that is strong, whether you like it or not. You could totally hate Apple and it's products. but if you invested when the stock was at 50 bucks, you would be really happy right now.

Actually I bought Apple at 85 a share. You do the math.

Sorry that was ignorant IMO. But what ever.

As for your bad investment you have no clue if it was going to go up or down. You just said you don't follow the market or stocks. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

I know some good friends that just lost a lot of money. Guess they should consult you first. Yikes.

SS was never meant to be a retirement thing. It was designed for supplemental income. It isn't gonna take care of shit.

I am not going to retire. I, like many other of my contemporaries, have seen the writing on the wall. There is no way, with the economy the way it is, the housing market still having yet to bottom out, that I can retire. I see no bright ending. I will die penniless, probably homeless, and unknown.

Good for you, I won't.

As for SS if it were stll around when I got there I'd receive about 4k per month. Yea that's supplemental alright.

False. I didn't say i didn't follow the market, I said I don't have money in it.

I also never said anyone should follow my ideas.

Why did your friends invest in Facebook? Did they think it was a good investment? At 35 or 40 bucks? That's nuts.

Apple at 85 bucks? That is an awesome move. I bet you are very happy, lord knows I would be. Now, lemme ask you, would you buy that stock now that it is between 500 and 600 bucks?

Look at what a share of Bershire is. It's all about the money you have and investment you want to make. I thought the generalized comment "**** them" was very ignorant and narrow minded. Especially from someone that doesn't have the means to even make that decision.

Sorry.....

And I'll probably do something with it if it becomes stable here in the next week or so. Because I do believe they will make a good investment out of it for their investors. I wasn't sure how it was going to do so I sat on the sidelines. I still feel sorry for those that are using their retirement to try and better it. I also feel sorry for those who chose NOT to do anything with their retirement.

Exactly. It will probably not be there when you get there, lord knows it won't be there when I get there.

It might be there when I get there. Then again it might not. But my retirement I've earned and put away should be.

It may be. narrow minded. I agree with you. But again, it is a form of gambling in my eyes, and I don't feel bad for those that can't bluff their way out of pocket aces.

As it should be.

I don't have the answers for anyone but me. Right now, for me, Facebook, and the stock market, isn't the answer. It seems way too risky, and admittedly, I don't know what alternatives there are.

I didn't say **** you to the people the invest, I said thats one of the outcomes of investing. There are basically 2 possible outcomes. You either make money, or lose money. I guess the investment could stand pat. so maybe 3 outcomes.
