It costs $1.99/min.

That's all you are going to need!

It bugs me when people get all pissy about advertisements on content that is essentially free to them.

Where the F do you think people get the money to provide this content to you? I swear some people are just dipshits and have no idea of the costs associated with bringing this content to people. I don't even want to know how much a site like yahoo pays on a monthly basis for bandwidth and staff to keep the site up and running smoothly, yet people don't want advertisements and at the same time would give yahoo the finger if they opted to trade ads for paid access.

I'd be rich if I had a penny for every comment on a yahoo video "remember when videos didnt have ads before them?" Sure, remember when yahoo's traffic was a fraction of what it is now?

Kind of goes with the general thought that everything should be free on and hassle-free on the Internet. But you hit the big point of the money it takes to run these things. Heck even many freeware applications that gain big attention start to charge for added features or have ad content pushed within the app.

I can only speak of the NASDAQ side and I can tell ya, watch the headlines there, they are in some trouble here.

All the hub-bub aside, if you are a day trader or small time stock purchaser, this is a good buy right now. Getting in on an IPO is never a bad thing. Just sit on the stocks for a while and watch them increase and split. It won't be long.

Not many split anymore Pete. 15 years ago, sure. CDW split 4 times between 94 and 2001, never again before it was sold.

Apple has gone from 85 to where it is today, no intend to split anytime soon.

FB up 2 bucks in the past two days.

Agreed, this is not your Dot Com IPO.

The price as is now is what most have expected its worth, but only based on funds (not my info or insight, just quoting folks at work who actually understand this crap).

As you can tell, I know how it all works but I certainly don't 'play' the way some of you do. As long as I have a 401K with work, I will stay out of the 'game'.

Well my old 401k is now an IRA so I direct some of it now or then. I certainly don't risk a lot though. Only a portion. My new 401k I let them mess with. So far in the past two years both are doing rather well considering the climate.

I have not moved anything into FB but it could most certainly continue to rise. Depending on how they get the 901 MILLION users to create revenue.

The law suits are more of the information that wasn't available to the smaller investors in which the larger investors knew. Part of the CFO creating more shares, which even devaluized the stock more just before they went IPO.

That could make it volitile in the next few weeks but I seriously doubt it will go much lower. Just a guess though.

Most would say the information was there, you just had to dig for it. They could also switch from the Nasdaq to the NYSE at any point.

Am I the only person in the world that still doesn't have a Facebook? Stupid fucking shit. I'll never have one, and if it went pay to use, my wife and kids wouldn't have one either.

Nope, you arent the only one. I dont have one either. I never got into the allure of this one or myspace or the like. I figured if I wanted to talk to someone I would. To me, the whole Facebook thing (I suppose texting could be included) is changing the very nature of communication. Although I dont think the change is a good one, but I am willing to resign to crotchy old man.

I don't not have a facebook page either. There is a Jakobeast fan page, but I don't run it. Hell, I don't even know the password.

Even if I did play the stock market, I would not invest in Facebook. That's just me though.

A former boss of mine bought Sirius an XM stock at IPO. It worked out very well for him.
