Well We don't know what we have in him but what we have in Clausen merits nothing - he is 1-11 as a player. That means he has only one more victory than Fales. So why not let him fill in after all we don't get anything out of Claussen

Should of been Clausen. Who honestly can look at Clausen and say he's better than anyone? I saw more talent from Fales on this play than in Clausens whole career.

I'm hoping they will try to resign him to the PS after the roster shakes out and we get some guys back from injury.

They'd have to sign him to the 53. If the Bears have already told him it's just for space and he'll be back, he may not listen to others. That said. Obviously, the Bears don't think he's getting on another's 53.

This move pretty much shouts how the Bears evaluate Fales. He's good enough for them to keep around as their 3rd string, development quarterback, but they obviously don't see him as a potential starter. If they did, there's no way they risk losing him on waivers (for the 3rd time, no less...). He's probably drawing his roster salary, with some assurances he'll be pushed back up to the 53 man roster later in the year when the playoffs are out the window. I would guess he gets to compete with Clausen (or whomever they bring in) next year for the #2 QB position. But that's probably his ceiling, at least in the Bears eyes...

People view it all wrong saying why even keep him there.. it's not a logical Fales vs Clausen.

It's Fales vs anyone else they could add to the practice squad out there unsigned by anyteam right now... exactly who would that be?

I'm an advocate but really, we don't see him practice. None of us has a good handle on what Fales is or can be. I just don't see him worse than Clausen but who knows? Maybe he doesn't have enough arm strength to pull it off. Could be they bring him back again. Maybe not. I doubt anyone truly expected him to be the future and most of the talk was the usual backup QB fun and games.

Every time people try to talk up Fales, all I can think is, this is the guy who coaches have deemed is worse than Jimmy fucking Clausen.

Vs who? Clausen sucks but he had much better credentials than the guys Brady beat out. He beat out Damon Huard an UDFA QB with a little bit of experience and a 7th round pick from the year before Brady was drafted. Fales is pretty worthless but these are different comparable situations .

Completely missed the point. Clausen sucks, but is better than fales. Also, huard put up better numbers than clausen, but again, that's irrelevant to the point. If fales were any good, he'd beat out a backup with a career 60 passer rating.
