Going for the Trophy/Achievement "The Courier who broke the bank" and I absolutely hate it. You have to get banned from Gomorrah, The Tops, and Ultra-Lux.

To do so you have to win a certain amount of chips in those casinos. Black jack is the easiest way to do it, and I got banned from The Tops last night, and tonight I went to Ultra-Lux...and I cannot win...at...all. Every time I'm given a 21 combo right away, oh what do you know, the dealer has 21 also. If I stay with a 19, oh what do you know, the dealer has 20. To get banned from the Ultra-Lux you need to win 15000 chips, and the max bet is 200. I currently have won 800 chips from there.

Needed 10000 from The Tops, that wasn't too hard, but I swear to god the dealer is screwing me over in the Ultra-Lux. After a while I just stood behind her and did a sneak attack with a .22 silenced pistol. That felt good....but she's the only blackjack dealer there I think, so I had to reload my game save.

I know, but I like to get as much of the quests done as I can.

I got ya but its not really a quest, and in order to do all the quests you have to play the game like 3.5 times. Thats really the only thing I don't like as I usually don't play games multiple times through.

We will see I havent played in a few days though.

Haha yeah I played Oblivion like 6 times. Fallout 3 like......10.

Just finished New Vegas last night, because in all honesty, I was getting tired of it. Left quite a bit of quests still open, quite a bit of locations still undiscovered. My mind is on Call of Duty: Black Ops mode right now, and I just can't focus on New Vegas.

About New Vegas-
Likes
  • I loved Fallout 3, and this feels just like it.
  • The weapons are 100x more accurate outside of VATS
  • The companion wheel. Easier to manage companions.
Dislikes
  • Also one of my likes, this game is pretty much an expansion of Fallout 3.
  • Uses the same crappy game engine that was used for Fallout 3 and Oblivion. It was great for Oblivion, too old for Fallout 3, and way way past its prime with New Vegas.
  • Glitches, Freezes, Frame rate drops. They were bound to happen, but this has been bad the further I got into the game.
  • Too many quests. The problem with Fallout 3, not enough quests. Obsidian heard this problem and overloaded this game with quests. Way too many quests that overlapped and canceled each other out.
  • Not much of a wasteland like Fallout 3. One pretty big city, and quite a few towns. Not enough of...well, nothing. I enjoyed feeling alone in Fallout 3.
  • Voice actors. I understand that Bethesda didn't do this game and Obsidian did, so they'd get a new cast of voice actors, but I just missed the old ones from Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Changed the Super Mutants voice actor, and that just felt, weird.

I realize there's more dislikes than likes, but it's the truth. Bethesda just needs to kill this engine and start over with something else. Use the engine they're using for Rage for when they do Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls 5.

I'd give this game a score of 8.0/10. Fun, but a little disappointing. Maybe once I get burnt out on Black Ops and give this game another playthrough my opinion could change. Hopefully Obsidian patches a lot of stuff between now and then.

You should try Hardcore mode...

I tried doing a 2nd playthrough and had planned siding with the Legion, but I just can't do it. I hate those guys so bad. I haven't even talked to Caesar in 1 and a half playthroughs. Killed him once though...just might do it again...if time allows it. Black Ops release party on Monday night...can't wait.

Nope. Assassins Creed Brotherhood right now, then I'm going to open up my new Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition.

It's been a while since I've been in Fallout mode. Even after it was released, I couldn't really get into it hardcore like I normally would with Fallout. I've been craving an RPG for a while, but just not a future post-apocalyptic RPG...

BETHESDA! JUST ANNOUNCE ELDER SCROLLS 5 ALREADY! WE ALL KNOW YOU'RE WORKING ON IT!

question-

how do I stay organized with all these quests, I seem to be getting overwhelmed with a million quests that the focus of the story is going off track.

and yes im starting to play this again after a long break. it seems to relax me :)

This is why I liked Fallout 3 more than New Vegas. In New Vegas you walk about a mile and you stumble upon an obscure quest that clogs up your quest page. I never thought that there could be too many quests in a Fallout game, but New Vegas managed to do it. I traded this in back in early February for a nice $25 :woot:

Now you got me in Fallout mode...might just start a new character in FO3.

i got back into it because its a pretty chill game compared to GOW2, COD and NHL. it is one of those games where you can sit back and relax. i turned it on for like 10 mins because I was bored and wanted to chill, now im hooked again.

im trying to go through the quests and stay on top of the direction i want to go, but it is hard as ****.

I dont know. You still don't have to do them all. And I never came across that many and I am I think a level 30.

I think Fallout 3 had less bugs, but I think story wise New Vegas blew FO3 out of the water. If I had time I would consider doing more NV, but I got too much stuff on my plate video games and otherwise.

I did think New Vegas had better characters, and I really enjoyed the weapons and customization. Odd variety of enemies too. And the followers were much more useful than FO3's. But I just enjoyed DC and the story more than NV and it's overall story. Both are very good games though.

It's funny you mention New Vegas because they just announced 3 new DLC's coming out, first one on May 17. The last one, "Lonesome Road" sounds really kick ass.

Three Fallout New Vegas Expansions Announced - Evil Avatar

DLC really is out of control, though. If you have patience, and you know it's a game that is going to have DLC, it is completely worth it to just wait a year for the GOTY edition to come out.
