Itt, hardcore burg'n.

Tonight I am pattying up some grassfed Angus ground up chuck/shortrib cuts, getting a nice crust in a cast iron and cooking to a nice medium rare. Topping with caramelized onion and merkts sharp cheddar cold pack cheese.

Wut r your favorite burgs?

I always cook mine medium or medium rare. Most times with beef but sometimes with bison or elk. I don't always like a lot of fixins either. The busiest I get is lettuce, tomato, bacon, fried egg and avocado. The simplest is just a burger with roasted jalapeño cream cheese

Oh, a friend of mine has gotten ground meat at a butchers that was 70% beef/30% bacon. He says it's the shit but I still haven't tried it. Has anyone else given this a whirl?

I've done it for meatloaf, but I prefer bacon on top of my burger rather than in it.

Do you guys prefer your burger done on a flat top/in a pan, with the crust, or grilled? Or are they two completely different things for you?

I love both. I like thick Patties on a grill and thinner in the skillet. Same amount of meat, just shape them a little differently.

Truth. I know a guy that puts green pepper onions and egg in his burgers. No breadcrumbs, sometimes cheese. Doinitwrong.

Okay, so I'm adding bacon to this. Hope it's good...

I like thin patties on the flat top! You cant beat the crust. Its so much flavor. Grinding your own meat is the way to go. I like two 3 and a half ounce patties, American cheese with caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato. Make a creole aoli with hand cut fries. Unreal meal.

I'm making meat cakes for breakfast tomorrow.

Can of corned beef
Mashed potatoes
Onion
Salt
Pepper

I'll let it sit over night to firm up, make patties, roll in flour and fry in butter. Awesome with eggs.

Sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen. That always makes the best food!
