You're leaving out the part where the offense had the ball in between those 2 drives and could have ended the game. Instead they went 3 and out and only took like 12 seconds off the clock. Just 1 first down leaves Detroit with barely any time left in that situation. Then got the ball back with 2 timeouts and immediately fumbled due to a complete lack of pocket awareness.

So you're in a round about way blaming JF. Regardless of The defense.......

Honestly, I can see both sides to the argument on Fields. I thought he played his ass off and the defense and play design on the 3 and out cost the Bears the game.

That said, how is it possible to always come up short with the game on the line? Like literally every single time the Bears have been trailing late in the game, we have not delivered with Fields as QB. Is he just that cursed? At some point if you are a franchise QB, you just take over a game and refuse to let anyone stop you.

So I just dunno. It’s a tough decision and it’s not mine to make.

I was a very big fan of drafting fields and was very supportive of him and I like him and I really really wish he would be the guy and I hope that he succeeds.

And I do think he will be a decent to good quarterback in the NFL somewhere down the line.

But how low have we set the bar that we consider him “playing his ass off“ with 169 yards passing and one touchdown? That’s a half for most good NFL quarterbacks.

Considering they got 4 turnovers off the Lions this game should not have been close. But Justin Fields is a model of inefficiency. His running is great. U til he consistently produces from the pocket the Bears will never be a consistent offense. Especially when it matters most.

Ya kind of. But you're right that drive was mostly on Getsy. But watching it makes me wonder why we never see Fields make adjustments to the play at the line. Bagent was always calling things out and making adjustments pre snap, killing plays and calling audibles. Why does Fields never do that? Did Fields not have the go ahead to change out of those runs up the middle that had no chance? He just seems to always line up and run whatever was called.

Those are thing we'll never know the answer to but it does make you wonder.
