I am in town to catch a Cubs game on Saturday and want to try and squeeze in the Bears game on Sunday.

I have a flight to catch at OHare that departs at 7PM.

Assuming I leave the game by 3, will I have enough time to catch my flight? Was thinking of renting car and parking nearby so that I can have a way to store my luggage.

You're fine. Should be under an hour as long as your not dealing with after game crowds.

You’ll get there but it will be tighter than you would expect. Every way out of the city is bumper to bumper after a Bear home game.

I’d suggest staying close to the stadium like at The Blackstone or The Hilton and Towers and leaving your bags at the Bell Station. Walk to the game. Afterward, take the L as recommended by another poster.

There is no nearby parking at Soldier Field at all. Most parking is minimally an hour walk from the stadium. Parking is also extremely expensive in the area plan on probably $50 to park if you do.

Soldier Field has a MAJOR problem of being almost entirely inaccessible if you try to drive up and park.

I found a parking garage that's a 15 minute walk from the Stadium. It's $150 to park but I'm already selling a kidney to afford the tickets so...

Is it unreasonable to think I can get out of the stadium and to the airport within 2 hours ?

It might be yeah. If your flight was out of Midway you would probably stand a chance but you have to get all the way to O'Hare and deal with that mess. There's not even a reasonable place to get picked up by an Uber in the area.

To be completely honest Soldier Field is one of the worst in game experiences in the NFL. The stadium is old and delapadated and combine that with the struggle to get into and out of the stadium I don't bother to go to Bears home games at all. The experience is an absolute nightmare.

There's a reason the Bears are trying to build a new stadium completely outside the city of Chicago. It's hard to build a stadium within a big already established city with all of two entrances and exits to get into and get out of to get to the stadium grounds.

It's one of the least accessible stadiums in the NFL.

If you leave before the rest of the fans, 1-1/2 hrs is plenty but shit happens so adjust from there. I was thinking Cubs game when I said an hour. Sorry.

Enjoy the Wrigley experience and call it a day. Do some sightseeing on Sunday and make it back to Ohare without rushing.

It is not unreasonable if taking the blue line.

Driving? Crap shoot.

Don't drive.

Drop your luggage off at the place below, take the red line to the blue line to O'Hare and you'll be fine. From the Roosevelt Red line stop it takes 60-90 minutes tops to get to O'Hare, you'll get to the stop around 3:30-45 after the game leaving you at O'Hare at around 4:30-5pm.

Driving from nearby parking is going to be the slowest way to get to O'hare from Soldier Field. You might make it in time but it would likely be a pretty close call.

IIWY I would leave the luggage at the hotel or a 3rd party bag storage place and then pick it up after the game before getting on the Blue Line to Ohare. If you take the Blue line you know youre going to get into Ohare at like 4:30 at the latest, which I personally wouldn't be super comfortable with but im the type of guy that gets to the airport 3-4 hours early and it drives my family crazy.

good luck, hope all goes well and you see a couple Chicago wins, the red line to blue line suggestions are solid

There are several lots by the stadium. You can buy single game passes for the Waldron, Adler, South, or North lots and they’re all right by the stadium.

The stadium is still in excellent condition. You’re completely full of shit. I have club PSLs and it’s in fantastic condition. All seating is built for football and the sight lines are excellent too. The stadium is in no way run down.

The way to enjoy the experience is to get there early, tailgate, and then hang out for an hour post game.

They want a new stadium that they own that can seat more than 62,000. They want a dome so they can host a Super Bowl and book other events all year long just like Jerry does in Dallas. They want their own stadium so they can drive the franchise value to 10 billion.

Stop talking out of your ass!

Yeah uh well he's trying to get to the airport in time to catch his flight so he doesn't have an hour to drink after the game while waiting for the crowd to filter out.

Soldier Field is a dump. It's a nice memorial to the fallen but absolutely shitty football stadium.

But I get it you're one of those delusional fans the rest of the NFL laughs at because you're still living in 1985.

Yeah I decided on probably walking back to Washington and taking the Blue Line from there. Will looking into taking the Redline though.

Again, appreciate everyone's input!
