It's kind of hard to tell in the video, but it sure looks whatever that structure is floating around does not look up to current hurricane code. Maybe an old house or something. Or maybe just the roof. Following Andrew the building codes got pretty stringent for new construction, standards escalating depending on proximity to the coast.

When those idiots get swept out to sea, then search and rescue teams have to waste their time trying to save them. Their actions are putting other lives unnecessarily at risk. If those idiots weren't there, then the search and rescue teams could be helping people who aren't being willfully stupid.
