Joe Thuney, 28: Because Thuney is on the franchise tag (about $15 million this year) any team acquiring Thuney in a deal would be willing to A) pay the prorated portion of that sizable price tag and B) let him hit free agency.

Because he's on the tag, he's not eligible to sign a new deal mid-season. That makes him a true rental. Doesn't mean he won't have value, though. He's one of the best in football at his position and is expected to be one of the highest-paid interior offensive linemen in the league. He could fill an immediate hole for a contender that may be dealing with injuries along the offensive line.

Would a team be willing to part with a third-rounder for his services if it feels he puts them in better position to win a ring? That's the value of the 2022 compensatory pick the Patriots would stand to lose if they deal Thuney (who's currently dealing with an ankle injury) to free agency. Negotiations might have to start there.

Patriots are moving former first round pick to left guard Isaiah Wynn from LT.

I'd do a 4th rounder. I'd be hesitant to give up a 3rd for a rental, unless it was an all-pro caliber of a player.

Would the Bears get a compensatory pick if they traded for Thuney and then let him walk in free agency, or how does that work?

I’m not a fan of trading draft capital and paying a high salary for a player unless you think it’s the missing piece for a Super Bowl run.

The Bears need to spend at premium positions and try to minimize spending elsewhere. QB, OT, Pass Rushers, CB. If you dominate at those 4 positions you become a consistent winner.

I disagree. I always favor building the lines first. OL and DL. If they both own the point of attack in any game, then any average position player around them can look good to great. Parcells logic there and I tend to lean that way.

The perfect forward pass is the ultimate weapon in football. (Long range bomber)

QB = (Delivery system)
Attack it (defensive line)
Protect it (offensive line)

The rules favor the QB in every way.

Build to destroy him. Build to protect him. The rest can be found in the process

CCS is worse than madden.

SO WHAT! If I wanna trade Khalil Mack and a First rounder and my punter for tyreek hill Patrick Mahommes and a 6th rounder.

If madden completed the trade it must be realistic.

2 of my 4 positions are on the line? So what exactly are you disagreeing with? Do you value premier/top paid guards/centers, or run stopping specialist over shut down CBs or franchise QBs?
