Agree - the Bears should at lest have a check in with his agent. Getting him out of the division is big.I would explore signing him, but it won't be cheap.
Him getting out of the North is a huge win for the Bears. Charles Leno is popping champagne.

On the guard position, I am just not sure how much the Bears are going to willing to pay to go out and get a guard ( a lot of money already invested on the oline). The guard may come on the second wave of free agency.Don't see any way we could afford him and still adding a legit RG in free agency and maybe even a TE or another OLB and still needing two ILB's and all the other needs. Agree with you both that getting him out of the division is nice but no way Zimmer doesn't replace him with a player at or around the same level. He's a defensive coach.

WowJeff Darlington on the Schefter Podcast handicapped the Tennessee Titans as the front runner for Tom Brady.
I mentioned this a month re: Brady, it's his connection to Vrabel and their ability to run the ball.
1. Eric Ebron
2. Trey Burton
3. Harris
4. Day 3 Pick
5. Holtz/Horsted
That would be an improved and deeper group.

Why even bother with a day three pick in that scenario, just keep Holtz and Horsted for peanuts.
