Yikes... We all get it. This is true and everyone agrees it's arguably the worst trade in history, but to admit that while the guy is under contract and on the roster is pretty hilarious. Not saying he did anything wrong cause I don't care, but it's a massive slap in the face to Watson... again, not that Haslam should care I guess.
Watson would have to be the most unaware idiot in the history of existence to not already realize that he's been worthless. He's still collecting those checks though so he might not care.

Steelers trading 21, 2026 1st and 83 for 10 to draft Sanders or Dart.
Why would they need to do that when no team picking between #10 and #21 needs a qb? A qb will fall to the Steelers. There's a chance they may have to worry about the Browns packing #33, more picks and a 26 1st or 2nd rounder to get to the late teens or #20. That's a slim chance though.

Super curious what Pryor gets for a contract - does he get more than Jenkums? Collective iOL for the Bears in 2024 is going to be making like $11M combined across the 6 guys who saw snaps in '25.
1 year deal. It won't be much but he is healthy so probably close.

Beating a divisional rival, ending the year with a win for a young team and making GB go on the road to Philly in the playoffs isn’t “meaningless”, and Virginia got to see the Bears beat GB before passing.
I don’t care about any of that.

The only thing that matters is the #7 overall pick is more valuable in this upcoming draft than the #10 overall pick.

Between all of the troll threads and posts on this site, this is not close to being “dumb”. You and some others simply “disagree”, that’s all.

And yes, teams absolutely play to lose. The Bears just literally tanked a season to get the #1 overall pick a couple years ago.
GMs and management might set up a team to lose. But the coaches and players never play to lose. The vast majority are either free agents or near free agency. They are going to play for themselves, and to not get hurt.

You already asked this and I already answered.

Folks aren't paying attention. No team between #10 and #21 needs a qb. No reason for the Steelers to trade up. Would their fear be if the Browns pass up on qb at #2, they would package this year's 2nd and 3rd a n d high picks in '26 to leapfrog Steelers, Otherwise, Steelers can stay put.
There is that and there is also the Colts at 14 that absolutely need a QB unless you think ARich and Daniel Jones are the answer, LMFAO.

Of course, they may pass on one but I think that would be incredibly stupid on their part.

What am I missing here?

This is false.

You have absolutely no idea if coaches and players have ever played to lose. You’re giving your opinion.

Haslam obviously has his issues, but I actually applaud him saying this. He’s taking accountability. Watson has and will basically be stealing a ton of money due to that contract. A stupid contract by the Browns? Absolutely. But good on Haslam being publicly honest about it for the fans.

Have you ever paid attention to the draft?

Trades to jump ahead of other teams happen all the time.

Simply standing pat because the team with the pick before you doesn’t have the same needs is foolish.

Your opinion is that they have played to lose, not only that, they do it frequently, which is idiotic.
I don’t know how frequent it happens but Pederson infamously threw the game against the Commanders to end the Eagles 2020season. He was then fired as the front office did not approve of his decision

It's very rare. And as you said it winds up with drastic ramifications.
