$14M for Dalman isnt as bad as some of the "worst case" projections were dooming. Poles has pumped a ton of resources into the iOL and even though the RG is kind of a question mark you cant say Poles bargain binned or neglected what was the most obviously glaring hole on the roster. Bears going into the draft with pretty good flexibility to take BPA at a decent handful of positions.

Falcons fan: I’ve watched him every game since he was drafted. He can’t snap the ball to the QB. Hes missed a ton of games and he’s a below average pass blocker. There was 0 dropoff from him to our backup for 8 games this past season and we literally improved in pass protection without him

Bears might've gone from cheapest IOL to most expensive in an offseason.

But even a Mahomes restructure can't possible cover Trey Smith, Nick Bolton, Hollywood Brown, and now another 15 million for this signing?

You'd think other teams would just do the same thing to keep their top guys AND add talent.
His restructure is almost 40 million, but they can consider doing Chris Jones too. Then after that, just make sure you build it out to be lighter in year 1 of the new deals and figure it all out. I think the 40 alone can maybe do it, but probably can tap into Jones if they had to.

Hey Mods is it possible to add Bluesky to our media-allowed images? Twitter being up and down today, who knows if that platform will just blow up any time soon. Thanks.

Poles finally woke up to reality. If your oline is bad you can’t win. You get what you pay for.
I think he was just in a position where he had to go with the key players first, then after all that, the line. Could have been line first then key players, but Caleb wouldn’t have been picked. It sucked but just the way it played out. But it was expected for Poles to hit the line this year because he had the rest of the pieces. Now we need better backups on the o line and a big time player on the d line. Via draft or trade.
