So i hear the Bears have just over $13 mil left and that's after the money set aside for the draft picks.

Not sure how much truth there is to that.
Unlikely unless they already did restructures.

Just send Sweat to Bengals and late pick for Hendrickson. ( I have zero idea on the cap implications here)
Cincinnati is going to want picks rather than that contract. And the Bears would have to eat a lot of dead cap which they can't really afford now.

Bears had around 38-42m in cap depending on whether OTC or Spotrac is right about Jonah Jackson's contract.

Assuming Poles continues to avoid void years and keeps with his more conservative staggering year over year I would expect the following cap hits give or take.

Dayo - 14, 16, 18
Jackson - 12.5, 14.5, 16.5
Dalman - 12, 14, 16

That would mean the Bears spent around 38.5m in the initial year. Since we are already past 51 players, 3 guys would drop off the top 51 so saving 2.52m So net Bears are at 36m spent. So right now they are at around 2-6m in cap space assuming the assumption above is correct.

They still neeed 12.7m for the draft but dont need that until they start signing draft picks and also probably want 10m or so going into year. So need to create 16-20m in cap space.

They can create 67m in cap space with simple restructures that dont require player consent but that obviously means increasing the cap hits in future years. So technically they still can make some more moves if they want.

They also can still cut Byard and Bates among others once the dust settles on FA and the draft.

They are going to back load the contracts more than that imo and probably get some $ out of the Moore and Sweat contracts. Also can get some $ from extending Thuney.

Daniels Jones is heading to Indy to compete with Richardson for a starting spot. That means the path is wide open for McCarthy in Minnesota.

Top 10 safety? The guy you're pounding the table for is THREE years removed from his best season and hasn't played more then 10 games a season since.

you can be all world but if you can't stay on the field it matters very little.
Fair points, but I'm hardly pounding the table or fanboying for him, I made a comment that I would have preferred to allocate the money which was committed to Grady instead to Hufanga (or Greenlaw for that matter). Then a few people commented on how much Hufanga sucks which IMO is ignorant. I watched nearly half his college games and nearly all his games as a Niner, when healthy he is legit top-10. And yes, when healthy, but he's still very young and promising.

Oh, and it's not like Grady isn't coming off a substantial injury as well.

Well here you have spotrac at $37m with no $ for Dalman, Dayo, or Jarrett. I'm guessing the other one has $43m because they have only a $11m cap hit for Jackson.

Well whatever it is it isn’t what dipshit Lemming thinks it is.

This feels like Ben DRIVING, but I'll give Poles credit for understanding where we needed to go, and approving the moves.
