Hasn’t Mahomes restructured once or twice already? I thought they did and don’t have much flexibility with his contract anymore. Obviously they can restructure Chris Jones, Humphrey, and other big deals though
Based on Over the Cap, they can get about 40 mil by a restructuring. I’d need to read the details to understand how they got to the numbers, but I’m sure it’s accurate.

I’d maybe not say they don’t have much flexibility left, but it does give them less flexibility in the future. That said, it does force them to spend more money in the present, which is an owner decision. Also, it can limit future flexibility/option. But Mahomes is a safe bet. They’d never cut him. It does seem to push guaranteed money into years where they don’t exist yet, but at least not void years (though a void year probably wouldn’t matter if you’re planning to keep the guy anyway).

Kelce has slowed down but still put up over 800 yards last season. Top 5 as far as yards go. Honestly I’d rather him keep playing. The media surrounding him and Swift will only get worse when he retires.
You’d rather he pant if you were a KC fan you mean? KC fans don’t seem to really want him to keep going. Him retiring would make it much easier to keep someone like Trey too. Maybe “sucks” is harsh. Maybe I should say he sucks relative to what he was and how he’s paid.

But yea, his total yards were fine, but they had their No. 1 and 2 WRs out for a while til they traded for Hopkins. He’s also still Mahomes guy, so he gets looks. He’s not playing nearly as well though. If he wasn’t on the Chiefs, he’d probably see his numbers vanish. I definitely wouldn’t want him on the Bears if he was a FA.

I 100% get the reason for the Chiefs to get rid of Kelce. I’m just sick do the Kelce/Swift shit and it’s only gonna get worse when he retires haha.

If the Chiefs released him, he would either retire or play another year for a contender. No way he’d ever play for the Bears and I’m good with that

Hufanga is worse than Brisker when it comes to health
He tore his acl in the last half of the 2023 season which made him miss some games in the beginning of the 2024 season and then came back and did something pretty serious to his wrist that made him miss more than a month.

With Brisker he is always getting hurt even if he leaves a game but comes back in and then he missed a bunch of last year with the concussion but he's always getting hurt. I love how both of them play the game though cause both like to bring the big hits but i think Hufanga is the better all around player.

Screw them both and go sign Javon Holland who played for the Dolphins last year then.

Maybe Swift will release him now that he's such a loser. :long:

The point is to highlight the cap issues that plague the Chiefs that might help Smith hit the open market.
Don't kid yourself, not a Poles move.

The Bears will be interested according to reports but will lose out.

Any thoughts on signing Haason Reddick?

Do you guys think it’s possible to get him for 2/3 years on a 7/8 million a year deal?

Absolutely no chance he's here next season... he created a problem for himself with his holdout. I'm sure the culture-first mentality Poles has won't mesh. But even if we want to say that wasn't much of a culture thing, he didn't play well coming back... also, he's 30 and a small edge for our defense. I don't think he's even on Poles' radar.

He’s like 6ft from what I remember. I thought maybe his problems last season would lead to a discounted contract for the Bears.

It's the 240 lbs really. He'd just be really undersized for what Allen does. If maybe he was some freak dude like Abdul Carter or Micah, I could see them making an exception, but there's just a lot of reasons that add up for the Bears not to go with Reddick.
