Another missed opportunity. When will Pace wake up?

Raiders sign J’Marcus Webb

After bouncing around the NFL for the last few years, J’Marcus Webb has found another home in Oakland.

Webb, a huge offensive tackle who last played for the Vikings, signed with the Raiders today.

The 6-foot-7, 333-pound Webb was a seventh-round pick of the Bears in 2010 and earned a starting job as a rookie. He also started all 16 games in 2011 and 2012. But the Bears cut him at the end of the 2013 preseason, and he’s struggled to find work since.

In two stints with the Vikings Webb has started only one game, and he also had a brief stop in Kansas City but never played for the Chiefs.

At the moment the Raiders appear set with Donald Penn and Khalif Barnes as their starting offensive tackles, and 2013 second-round pick Menelik Watson as the top backup. Webb will try to prove he belongs somewhere in that mix.

Redskins acquired FS Dashon Goldson and a 2016 seventh-round pick from the Bucs in exchange for a 2016 sixth-round pick.
It's amazing the Bucs were able to get anything for Goldson, even if it is just a late-rounder. Goldson has been a massive bust since inking a five-year, $41.25 million contract that included $22 million guaranteed prior to the 2013 season. The Redskins were so desperate for safety help that they're taking on Goldson's $8 million cap hit. He'll be the favorite to start next to new SS Jeron Johnson.

I'm pretty sure he'll restructure. I know Washington does some dumb things, but $7.5M for a safety that was benched is just not workable.

Which puts them at $7,884,688 in spendable space (effective rookie salary pool is around $3.123 mil). Pace has had a pretty cost effective FA so far, hopefully some of these cheap 1 year deals will work out and turn into long term signings next offseason.

More like 5.8mil once you take emergency space into account.

I sorta wonder what this offseason would have looked like if they could have traded Cutler.
