The secondary was better today than I thought. With that said, Foles missed a few wide open receivers. He was just awful after the 1st drive.

Remember when some idiots on here thought that we should have traded for Foles?

To be fair, he did have a pretty damn nice streak :p

Edit: But it says a lot when the HC trades you for a oft injured QB

Mango, I admit man, I had you pegged as a biased Cutler hater. But you've proven me wrong in that front. I know I'm biased in regards to Cutler (I always liked him), but I'll be reading your posts in the future with more care. Anyways, great game, great day. Let's forget all our differences for one day and just enjoy it (Despbro too) lol.

I live and breath Bears.

If Cutler plays well, he deserves all accolades. He played well.

By my calc's he had a +150 QB rating today??

I think it was a perfect rating or just slightly under. I caught a glimpse of it earlier.

Again...if he can stay healthy I think he's worthy of a 2 year deal to buy some time to draft a shutdown corner.

Yeah I think he'll be back but we're still thin at the position and I'd bet my left testi it gets addressed in the offseson.

It's incredibly naive to think he wouldn't leave for 3-4x pay in a place like Indy.
Why? All he had to do was agree to having Tomsula as DC and he turned down the job. He wanted Fangio or one of the guys from the Ravens staff (forgot his name) and when the 49ers said no he stopped talking to them. He also turned down their OC job when Tomsula came calling.

You guys think it's all about the money and you know nothing about his previous interviews/ offers or what he wants. You're all just talking out of your ass. Give me a legit situation and I'll belive you but money is not the only or key factor. Gase has gotten advice from a lot of ex-head coaches and given his response in several areas it's obvious he wants the right situation.

If you were offered two options, a raise tomorrow but it would be only for three years and you would never see that kind of money again or the same raise in three years but you knew you would have that till you retired, which would you work towards?

Gase wants to be a head coach but he does not want to go the route of Josh McDaniels. He's also very specific about who he wants on his staff. He's not getting any staff from us since fox needs these guys to continue the system Gase started or risk a fall out with a new system and play caller. He's not getting fangio or any of our defensive staff either. Who the fuck is Gase going to bring with him? Being a successful head coach is partly due to who you can bring into the building with him. Gase does not have that luxury right now.

You guys try to make it so simple. Like, derp, he can coach Luck, er Tannehill, er Stafford and make derp money and then you stop thinking. It's not that simple and Gase is not that dumb.

I get labeled a hater for calling it like it is.

If Cutler plays well. I will not only say he did, I will be ecstatic that he did.

Eating crow when a player (any Bears player) kicks ass is the best crow I will ever eat.
So this is his only good game of the year in your opinion. I ask, because you made a thread in the Cutler subforum, arguing that Jay is his same ol "mediocre" self

Agreed. But he made the plays when they needed to be made. Hell he'd have what? 4 tds if Wilson doesn't drop that pass. Correct reads, absolutely fantastic in the pocket. This team plays balls out w him under center. It's a blast to watch.

Credit Gase but especially Loggains. Cutler must've bought in with those two because man oh man, just total confidence and trust with this team.

Save your breath. They call 3rd down the "money down" as in a QB earns his money on 3rd down. Cutler has bounced back and fourth from number 1 to number 2 this season, and his completion % on 3rd down leads the league. Yet we still see stupid threads about how he is over paid. Year in and out, Jay has been excellent on 3rd down-this year is nothing new.

Jay is playing the best football of his career right now.

He's been moving around the pocket damn well, and is even managing to not turn the ball over. Hopefully he'll be able to carry this play out for the rest of the season.

It's pretty fucking simple. Bears fans couldn't figure this out before...

He finally has an offensive coordinator that is considered to be NFL level. The loser, failure Bears have given him Ron Turner, Mike Tice, Mark Skeletor. Fuck, look at his first season. Ron Turner as HC with starting wide receivers ... Devin Hester and Rashied Davis? Like what the fuck is that. Maybe Cutler never "listened" before but he had no one to listen to. It's why teams like the Browns always suck. You cannot expect this guy to come in and throw to two converted defensive backs. He was set up to fail right away in Chicago and it snowballed from there. He didn't miraculously figure it out in the off-season at 30+ years of age.

I'll tell you exactly why he will eventually take a head coaching job, because that's what all coordinators and assistant coaches dream of doing, running their own team. I'll tell you what, if 3 teams this offseason fire their coaches and interview him and all 3 offer him jobs you can bet your ass he will take one of them. He isn't turning down all of them.

And who is he taking with him? Fox and Pace need everyone they currently have (aside from special teams). He'll need to build a staff from other teams and take his chance that if he doesn't succeed or isn't in the right situation, he'll go Josh McDaniels and be a career OC.

Or, he can spend another year or two here and have more connections from staff members who have ascended within our team or who have moved to better positions on other teams.

He may get offers but i highly doubt they will be as good as what he'll be offered in another year or two. I think having control is what every coach wants and i don't think teams are going to offer that next season.

It's also not like he was a hot hc candidate last season. He had one offer and only one other interview and that was with the Broncos. Most potential head coaches have many interviews and have done so for a few years. He has had two interviews total.

I do think he'll get offers but they better be damn good because he's not going any where without control/say of the staff, roster, draft and free agents. Not if he has multiple offers and an offense that is playing well with a once "dysfunctional coach killing QB".

Name a play and I'll be happy to.

Sadly, many of you dumb fucks don't even know how much of a fan of the team winning I actually am....

When Cutler plays great and helps us win, I am the first to say so.

Why do I have to name a play? You never have any problem picking your own when the Bears, or more specifically Cutler, fuck up. Here's the thing, I'm not even asking you to break down a play where Cutler did well, I'm just asking why you never break down any positive plays by the Bears. I don't care if you do it or not, just pointing out you clearly have an agenda.

Do you really think he won't have coaches lined up to take with him at some point?? Get real. Christ man, you act like this guy is just gonna stay here no matter what and will never leave for a head coaching gig. It's gonna happen. Not sure why you like arguing about this.

Called him out by saying his accolades for Cutler are deserved?

Dimwit

Um, going out of your way to mention how posters will be slurping a player all week is practically the definition of a call out.

I don't think Gase has "done enough" yet. he had an ideal situation with the Broncos when he had the most cerebral quarterback to play the game to work with. there's a lot of great coordinators that got head coaching jobs. I can name 3 Bill Belichick guys right now: Eric Mangini, Romeo Crennel, Josh McDaniels. you see a rotation of guys like Jack Del Rio, Wade Phillips, Norv Turner, Rod Marinelli, and I'll scrape deeper with Mike Martz and Dave Wannstedt who won super bowls with the Rams and Cowboys. I'm sure there's many more, but I just woke up... point being, not all are HC material.

I don't know why Adam Gase would risk the embarrassment of the names I mentioned of taking such a job and having it blow up in his face when he can stay with this team like Larsonite said and build the offense for 2-3 more years and just take Fox's job when it's done.

I still don't see it. I don't know why all of a sudden everyone's so chicken little about this one guy. must be the hip topic to talk about I guess.
