I'm doing it. Grain Brain. Going for 4 days and was a little fatigued but now feeling pretty good. No more sugar for me fellas. 50 grams o' carbs before noon and that's it bitches.

Kinda like Paleo but not as hardcore, kinda like Atkins but without the ketosis.

Anybody here doing anything weird with their diets these days?

I cook all my own meals now which is weird for me. I suppose I eat out a few times a week actually.

I tried Atkins years ago, and I lost a lot of weight fast, but you gain it all back as soon as you stop. And I just didn't feel right while I was on that diet. Now I just limit my carb intake and I seem to be doing well.

All i eat on this diet is food I or wife prepares from whole ingredients. We've been that way for years, but this is much more disciplined. Maybe the fad of it encourages healthier choices, but the science makes sense. It's got a lot to do with the recent research on how low fat diets are horrible for you. Can you believe that just 15 years ago diet experts were recommending hard candy as a healthy alternative for the fatty food cravings? Only things i know will be missed are beer and good bread. But bourbon and bacon are more to my liking anyways.

I'm not doing any sort of diet as a fad... I've just found that I'm sensitive to a lot of things. So I don'e eat anything with dairy in it, I don't eat gluten, I stay away from red meat as much as possible, the only sugar I like getting is from fruit, and I stay away from white rice/potato as much as possible. I've been doing this for about 6 months now.

Im doing a radical diet when I reduce my caloric intake and increase my activity. Ive lost 19lbs since june 23rd.

My main problems are injuries(back, shoulders), a HQ desk job and a tendancy to eat like Im still still young, heathy and active. These things tend to lead to fatassicitis.

I wear a bodymedia tracker and enter my foods into MyFitnessPal app on my smart phone. The MyFitnessPal barscanner makes it easy to enter whatever Im about to comsume. Bodymedia, while not perfect, gives me a gauge of my activity that day.

Daily goals
1 hour of moderate activity
12,000 steps
1350 calories

Once I reach my target weight I will up the calories to a maintenance level.

Thats my fad diet paln.

This is some crazy shit right here if you are trying to lose weight:

- Eat slightly below maintenance in terms of kcals
- Exercise. Preferably a blend of cardio and strength training
- Avoid shitty, processed food (e.g. try and keep the kcals clean for the most part)
- Give yourself a psychological break with a cheat meal once a week or so, but don't be an asshole about it
- Watch your macros. This can vary by individual so adjust to optimize for you personally. For me it's probably about 35 / 45 / 20 (c / p / f) if I'm trying to lose weight.

Craziest part? It works. Especially when used as a lifestyle change and not a crash diet.
