We have 3 good RB's, why put a guy who has fumble issues at a position that is most prone to fumbles? lol

They are really trying to make this 3rd round pick not be a waste. Dude is 50 years old

We all know Velus isn't the brightest crayon in the box. I dread the idea of asking him at RB to scan and identify a blitz pickup. May GOD help us

He must have arthritis in his fingers to fumble so much...

I kinda appreciate the effort by the staff to get something out of him. Shows a little bit of outside the box thinking. Probably not a good sign for him though

Plenty of other players who are younger and have more upside the Bears could be investing time/energy in.

Mark this post, VJJ will be out of the NFL very soon and will not contribute anything worth of his draft status.

It's actually his best position (outside of kick returner). Rather have him as 4th rb than Homer.

Bears should have done this year's ago.

Can velus play special teams outside of doing Kick returns which every other RB on the roster would probably better at?

Homer was signed to play special teams. We dont need a 4th RB to run a play everyone knows is coming. This seems like a move to put him in any position to save his roster spot.

I could care less if homer is gone as he wont play offense anyways.

My favorite teams
  1. Atlanta Braves
  1. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Vegas Golden Knights
  1. Duke Blue Devils
  2. Nebraska Cornhuskers
I'm surprised it took this long to make the position switch. It's been pretty clear he's not an NFL WR despite his NFL caliber speed. Hopefully they give him the week, objectively evaluate whether they think there's anything there as a RB and if not, move on from him.

He adds speed to the offense from the rb position
He's prob the best kick returner the bears have
He has 175 st snaps last yeat....think mostly on kr and punt coverage (and think they didn't put him on coverage until part way thru the season)

He adds way more to the team than homer

I actually thought that he played a few snaps at RB last year, and that was the goal coming into this year. Maybe that was just some of us speculating?

And certainly after utilizing much of the off season resources on wide receiver, addressing this in August seems late.

He did a few jet sweeps I think, not sure if they ever actually lined him up in the backfield.

Its just an expectation people had because of cordarelle patterson, who was also a failed WR. Difference is patterson was a much better WR than velus has ever shown to be. Not hard to do that I guess.

How anyone can support velus after that deep underthrown touchdown drop from bagent is beyond me. I woulda cut him after that embarrassment. No NFL WR should ever miss that play

And, thus, the change to RB.

We have 3 actual good RB's, one who's one of the best pure runners in the NFL(Herbert).

Why not just cut this bum? He's going to fumble away a game this year for sure if they play him at RB
