You people are wacky. Providing he makes the team, he'll be #4 on the depth chart. He'll return kicks and run a few gadget plays. Worrying about his blocking? LOL, he might play one or two plays from scrimmage a game....if that. Unless he does some good things returning kicks, he's probably gonna get cut anyway. I think they like their WR group so he's not gonna grab a spot there.

Flip Jones Jr. to RB and trade Herbert for a 5th round pick if you can get it, otherwise a 6th. Between Swift, Johnson, Homer and Velus you've got a cavalcade of guys who can hurt you as a receiver out of the backfield along with a couple special teams aces. Velus then doubles as an emergency receiver and obviously the kick returner. And that'd be a nice return for a running back (Herbert) on the cusp of walking next season anyway.

We all knew this was the only path for Velus to stick in the NFL really.
