Because he is faster than all of them and his shit receiving skills at WR is a plus at RB. Should have always been in a Patterson role.
Also, if someone wants to give me a 4th aor 5th next year for Herbert I trade him as he is a FA next year.

Being fast doesnt make you a good RB.

to be fair, VJJ has a problem with muffing punts and catching, not really fumbling it after he has it controlled. so we cut out the air yards and hand it to him.

It's like people think all these fumbles are from after catching a pass or on the few running plays he's had in.his career
I don't see the issue with this move at all and actually like it......
By comparison; he'll make slowshawn look even more like he's running in molasses trying to hit a hole

Meh 2 of his 3 fumbles were muffed punts. I think the see a little potential Corderelle Patterson in him. He ain't going to make the team at WR so why not?

If they carry 6 WR’s, he is probably the 6th WR—finishes behind Johnson. Unless they keep Pettit for the 6th WR & PR(which he was solid at in 2022)

OMG RBs never fumble? They will try him at RB and if he looks decent there he stays. If not he gets cut. It is too early in the seaaon to be cunting already.

They already signed Felton who also is a decent receiver out of the backfield. The only RB who cant really catch now is Herbert. Swift, Felton, VJJ, Homer, and RJ all can serve as checkdown options that can do damage in the pass game.
