I thought this would be useful as reference:

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9193

It looks like our payroll is at 32 million, which would put us at 24 under, no?

Deng makes 11.3

Hinrich makes 9.0

How much would LeBron make? Ive seen 19.X and also 16.X for non S&T scenarios. Which is it?

What does Bosh stand to make, since Toronto wants to do a S&T?

OK, so that would mean Deng alone would put us at just enough to squeeze both under the cap.

24+11.3=35.3-33.6= 1.7

Yeah, I know we need so trade Kirk but, you need to move whatever to make room for James and Bosh and worry about that later.

But say you cant move anyone. Here's your roster
Rose
Hinrich
James
Bosh
Noah
Taj
JJ

That bench is two guys, both PFs but i guess Johnson is trying to slim down in to the SF role. Also what about our draft pick salary?

Another question, how can the FO manage the salaries of two max guys to where we can resign Noah when his contract is up?

You can go over the cap on Noah. The Larry Bird exception, no?

I forgot about that but i dont know exactly how it works. Is it only after rookie contracts expire? Or would a team like Miami be able to sign two max FAs and then sign Wade with the Bird exception?

We can't afford Hinrich/Bosh/James. Two of those guys can stay, Deng AND Hinrich HAVE to go for us to sign James and Bosh.

Like Yahoo Sports says:
Bulls' Deng and Hinrich headed to trading block? - Sports Rumors - NBA

The Bulls will have $20 million to $22 million to spend on free agents this summer and the team's apparent hope is to get a sign-and-trade deal done with another team in exchange for Hinrich and/or Deng and still have $16.57 million left over to offer a maximum contract to any of the biggest fish out there.

16.8 for each guy.

One of the them would be more since we would do a sign and trade. Since of the Bird rule, LeBron's or Bosh's contract would be something like 6 years/$120-130 or something while the one that signs straight up would be 5 years $85-90 million.

That's why we will BARELY be short to sign the both of them. Which is why both Hinrich and Deng need to go.

So say we have
22mil
-16.8 James
=5.2mil
+11.4(Taj and Deng trade for Bosh)
=16.6 so that leaves us 200,000 short of signing Bosh but even if James was willing to sign for .2mil less, we still wouldnt have money to build a roster. Thats why we must trade Kirks 9.5.

Wouldnt it be great if James cares so much about winning that he accepted a deal minus a couple million?

Exactly. And Bosh's money would be a lot more if it's a sign and trade. It would be more than 16.8, don't know the exact number but he gets around $30 million more from the Raptors.

So youre saying that it could cost roughly 20.8 for Bosh?

Saw something on LeBron and Bosh on ESPN.

When talking about James they said that if he signs with Cleveland it will cost them 125.5mil for 6 years which comes out to 20.9. I guess that would be the same for Bosh as well correct? Then they said how much another team can pay for him and i dont remember the exact #s but it came out to about 19 mil per year but that doesnt sound right...idk ive heard and seen so many different #s, idk whats what anymore.

I wouldnt say they bring nothing to our team but i would take the chance unloading both of them on pure hope of us getting 2 max guys. I believe we will get one and im sure some other FAs will follow.
