I'm not sure why even a meatball like me can realize this obvious point and yet the coaches don't, as they continue to make changes away from what has worked the entire season and not adjusting with proper strategies for their players to make plays. It's not even like the Bruins are doing anything specifically different than any other team the Blackhawks have beaten before; other than, of course, having a great defense. Do the Hawk's players simply don't want the Cup as bad?
Either way, they've already made dents and openings in their armor before and should keep aiming for those weaknesses with what's worked.
The Hawks are so deep this year that, in theory, you could load up the top line and still have plenty of depth to throw out 3 other lines that, on paper, are better than what Boston can provide. You tell me how you could stop this lineup:
Sharp-Toews-Kane -- When this line is together and clicking, it's a fucking thing of beauty.
Saad-Bolland-Hossa -- This could be your checking line, with 3 players who excel in the 2-way game
Bickell-Shaw-Stalberg -- Probably the best 3rd line in the NHL this year
Smith-Kruger-Frolik -- A good grinder line and 16/67 provide some fantastic PK work each night
I know I punted Handzus out of this lineup but, personally, I think all he does is slow the Hawks down. If you want you could throw Handzus to the 2nd line, kick Bolland to the 4th and kick Smith to the press box.
But that's still one hell of a lineup, man. They just need to produce.
