1 or 2 players at once. LOL. The "or" in that statement could be seen as marketing engrish. One player at once!

I remember how excited I would get to find co-op games.... If I was having friends over for a sleepover my mom or dad would take me to Blockbuster so I could rent a few games and I would run around looking for the co-op ones lol.

Renting games was a big thing back then... I probably played 75% of the games via rental rather than owning them.

Oh another game my friend and I played a bunch: WWE vs NWO. We'd just try to get all the items on the outside of the ring and bash each other with them. Eventually we played the game semi srs and unlocked all the characters and stuff...but then we couldn't save the game lol. He ended up leaving his N64 on for a few days before we decided to play something else.

I remember playing this quite a bit too.... I was certain there had to be a way to take 2 of those table ends and put them together to make a table setup that I could them powerbomb my enemy into.... alas it was not true.

Renting games. Ah, such fun.

Trading games with friends in the neighborhood, that was better. I'd purposefully buy the games nobody had. Heck, we all did to some extent. Until CD based games dominated the market... then you learned which friends you could trust or not, because you got your games back with scratches! :fist: Instead, we bought boot loaders and burned games! LOL

Rented this once...so much fun lol. I found it again (or some version of it) on the shockwave site some years later and was amused for a few days.

Did anyone else play Gauntlet Legends in the arcade? When my sister had her ice skating lessons I would try to play that (or NBA Jam) to pass the time. Co-op on that game could be pretty fun if everyone knew what they were doing.

I used to love the original Gauntlet. When Diablo came out, Gauntlet became a distant memory.

Yeah I remember it getting ported to the N64 and always wanting to rent it, but it was usually never available. By the time I remember it finally showing up at Family Video or whatever place I went to, I didn't care anymore.

I completely forgot about general chaos. That game was awesome.

Streets of Rage was a lot of fun. I also played Final Fight and Double Dragon in the arcades. My friend and I dumped so many quarters into those games until we finished it.

For whatever reason when I was in China many years ago I went about bought this game boy cartridge that had like a bunch of classic games on it. Double Dragon was one of them. It was fun until the whole thing decided to break. Gotta love that Chinese bootleg gaming quality lol

I also have to throw in a vote for Burgertime on the original Nintendo.

General Chaos was fun.... but IIRC you could play a campaign but it basically never ended.... like you would take their capital and then it would just reset and play over again lol. It was like a Madden franchise, you never "beat the game"

I am pretty sure I played one of the Double Dragon games through to completion on Sega Genesis.... it was kind of like Streets of Rage.

Yeah it's a similar type of game. Pretty fun in co-op.

Winback or Operation Winback for N64

For 1999 the combat and graphics and story were pretty darn good.

So not to get too far off topic, but what is everyone's favorite game that they remember playing that is actually just a really really horrible game. For me Burger Time comes to mind. haha.
