Can someone remind me why you always have to play the lefty-righty match-up? I mean Russell, granted he walked the guy, but he has an .052 ERA versus someone who has a 7.5 ERA.

Since the better hitters make an out 7 of every 10 times at the plate, I would put and keep my better pitchers out there. Throwing a struggling pitcher into the fire is not a good move in my opinion.

The brass has a lot of work to do still on this bullpen.

Or if you are managing the sixth like its the eighth why not go to Fuji if you have to have righty-righty matchup?

No the problem is with the knuckle heads that keep putting incompetent players into jobs.

They Cubs have the lead so they put a Rule V into a hold the lead role...bad idea, then Russell into face 1 batter....then the biggest choker all year in to blow it.

Camp should not be on the team.

In that situation I would have put Villeuneva in to pitch the 7th, Fuji the 8th and have Gregg close it. They have the lead.

If they are behind then they should have Rondon, Camp and Marmol in. They are behind and giving up runs while behind matters little.

Guessing at least part of it has to do with the fact that DeJesus isn't a real CF, and PNC is a huge outfield.

I was kinda expecting the 2 loses against the LH's. Lirinaro has been very impressive after coming back from injury. I was kinda hoping that Jed would have signed him vs what he did in the off season.
2 guys I wanted was him and McCarthy. McCarthy has been meh.

This again ties to the Cubs lack of hitting from the RH side.
Over the 2 game LH match up:
Hairston: 0-6
Ransom: 1-6
Soriano: 2-8

This is supposed to be the firepower to LH pitching.....what a joke.

Again this ties to ownership being cheap.

And

Management choosing to be thrifty instead of paying for quality.

Nothing will change until there is better levels of talent on the field.
