I just saw a news article somewhere the other day that says the money we currently collect on gas taxes for roads is being misspent...One example was that some state got a Transportation Museum paid for out of gas taxes( I wanna say Tennessee, but Im not positive)..Maybe if our government actually used the gas tax money to repair roads instead of pork projects, we wouldnt need a tax increase?

Government misspends the majority of our money.... nothing new there.

And they do spend money on the roads but at least in Illinois they do a shitty job on purpose.... if the roads are fucked every few years they know the work will never dry up.

Im sure they spend the majority of it on roads..Im just saying there is a lot of waste..Maybe if they stopped the waste, a tax increase wouldnt be needed

Wishful thinking on my part I guess

Are gas prices back on the rise now?

I filled up at a place a week ago for 2.10 a gallon. Today it was 2.50, and two days ago I saw it at 2.39.

Yeah, it looks like they're creeping back up. Around $2.40-2.60 in CA.

You have to pay for an air pump or purchase air unless you have your own compressor. In either case, some or all of those parts are probably chinese made.

shortly after I posted, I read an article that said gas prices will be at around 5 bucks a gallon by the end of 2015, according to some guy that used to work in the industry.. If he's right, I guess it was good while it lasted.

I'm no expert but right now the way world oil production has changed OPEC doesn't have the control they have had in the past. Russia ignores them and now with the emergence of the U.S. how can anyone predict where prices will go?
