Re: What to do with Brandon Saad

Well obviously we got Carcillo... let him and Toews take out opposing players.

Bolland first and foremost. Just don't see what purpose he serves anymore. Carbomb would be my next choice. Bollig doesn't do much for me either, but I have a feeling he will just end up back at the Rock. Mayers and Zus will not be back, but neither of them is much of a loss.

I would love to see Stalberg and Bickell both back, but I do not know if they will be able to re-sign both of them. I think Bicks can be had reasonably cheap. I think some GM is going to overpay for Stalberg, and if Q is back, he won't use him properly anyway.

I doubt Bickell will be the hot commodity that Buff and Ladd were in 2010. They turned out to be pieces that the Hawks still havent been able to replace. Im not sure how Bowman will handle the cap with it's reduction but if the roster stays as is, no way they sign Bickell or Stalberg. I'd hate to lose them but dont I see them being unreplaceable like Buff and Ladd turned out to be.

Lines today were Hossa-Toews-Bickell, Kane-Handzus-Sharp, Stalberg-Shaw-Saad, Frolik-Bolland-Kruger.

who do you guys want gone next year?

Quennville :hawkstroll:

I don't know exactly how the buyout works, but I was confused when they said on CTL to buy out Montador and Olez. I was under the assumption that players in Rockford don't count against the cap.

That said, I think a lot of decisions will be made by the salary cap. I see Stalberg gone regardless, Bickell played himself into a nice contract if he wants it, same with Emery.

I guess one guy I'd be interested in seeing what they could get back would be Marcus Kruger.

They did not previously, but now a portion of their contract will depending on how much they make. A good place to check out the new CBA (nicely highlighted) is at capgeek.com - a lot of good information there about contracts in general. Montador and Olesz seem like the obvious candidates at this point.

So DMelt, you don't think any team can hang with the Hawks for 7 games.

Well, meet the Boston Bruins barring the Hawks don't collapse.

I'll even post it again.

Still yet to be convinced that ANY team in this league is capable of outlasting the Blackhawks for 7 games.

Yeah, the Bruins are good. An Eastern Conference team that actually plays defense.

But no, you won't be able to convince me that the Bruins can beat the Hawks in a 7 game series.

Boston will have to prove it on the ice.
