Flux sux. For those who rail against life and always feel hard done to. Life is change. The world has changed. Nobody is being duped.

Or, to make the OP feel better, the problem, if there is one, can be boiled down to three words: vaginas.

Va gin as? It's the only way I saw three words...?

If you enjoy, and others follow suit...then by all means enjoy.
I love the NFL. I don't really get your point in this thread as your thoughts seem to be all over the place. And I damn sure can't sit through 9 innings of baseball but am more than willing to sit through every second of every football game I can see. Not a big fan of Raj, but a guy in his position does what the situation dictates him to do and if you can do that while still making football even more popular, you must be doing something very right.

A year later, the point is the same. If Lombardi were alive today, I don't think he would want his face on the trophy.

By the time Goodell is finished, special teams will no longer exist.

And if Lombardi was alive today the Packers wouldn't have a *** QB no matter how good he was. What is your point?

Are fans more interested in player's personal lives(Teo circus)nowadays than they were 20 years ago?.

Or have the new social media outlets(sharing more personal info)simply made it appear that way?.

That's an interesting question and I dont believe there is a black or white answer, but I will say with the Boom of "reality" TV the general public as a whole is more interested in the personal dirt BS than ever before.
That's my personal belief anyways.

He's not ***. He's just a multi-millionaire that has a *** man as a roommate. And they attend events together and prance around on the beach together and what not. But he's not ***.

This.

The way salaries are structured in MLB means that teams pay for what you have accomplished, not what you will accomplish. High priced talent is usually the final piece and it's rarely the building block of a championship. Smart drafting and player acquisition is really the key.

The White Sox had a fairly big sized payroll IIRC, but it wasn't a crazy amount of spending.
Don't tell that to Cubs fans.

I hate Roger Goodell too...

He is ruining the game of football... I even found myself turning games off this last season after watching bullshit flags for roughing the passer and hitting a defenseless receiver...

Yes, hitting defenseless players is part of the game.

If post players didn't file lawsuits none of this would be happening. This is Roger Goodell doing his job which is making as much money as possible for the owners.

I agree with this. Goodell is taking steps to protect the league from future lawsuits by instituting some of these measures. It sucks, but I blame the lawsuits for this. There's good reason that the last two NFL commissioners are former attorneys, as opposed to Pete Rozelle, who had a marketing background. However, what I don't understand is why he's imposing the celebration penalties and taking the "fun" out of the game.

Sooner or later, I believe the NFL is going to implode. It's becoming much more of a soap opera dramatic weird marketing ploy. Has it always been? Sure. Do I think it has gotten worse than when I remember watching the NFL as a kid in the 90s and 00's? Yep. I think NFL Netwrok, although fun, is adding to it- the games are a blast but the dramatic leading up effect is kinda questionable.

Just as is the Super Bowl two years ago and the lights going out.. Either that was a huge embaressment or something was going on because the game was so lopsided. I also think eventually the rules and the way they have catered SO much to the offense is going to screw the NFL over. As will all the damn rule changes.

I'll say this though. If they start changing everyones jerseys up. Making them more futuristic, cyborg looking like NCAA- I'll question watching the sport anymore. Those damn jerseys are so hidious haha.

Does anyone ever watch Rugby?

You do not have to make the helmet better. You need to make them worse.

If it hurts you wont do it.

I agree totally about the helmet. If they really want to reduce concussions, they should make a much looser and softer helmet. The one they use now, is a bullet looking for something to slam into.
