The further you go south, the more erratic the weather gets.Is this a reference to Rio de Janeiro? Or are you talking about something like Vitoria, Recife, Florianapolis etc? My impression of Rio's weather was that it was a little more erratic (and hot) than just a steady 85-90 degrees. I was there in the dead of winter and it was pusing ninety.
Either way I think it might've been my favorite overall city in the world and I'm taking Portuguese right now because there is some thought for us to return for next years "winter" for a few months. Sao Paulo was impressive too, top five food city I've ever been to.
Just went to those two places and Amazonas. Really felt like I didn't do enough, I'd like to check out Bahia, Espirito Santo and the Pantanal if I ever really get the chance again. The south would be great too but I am occupied the best time of year to visit those places.
The seasons are weird in Brazil. To begin with, when the US has winter, Brazil has summer. Autumn for Brazil is the rainy season (maybe some mountainous areas might get some snow but not a lot).
Right now is winter in Brazil which means sunny weather.
Because I am closer to the equator (in Natal), there aren't really much of seasons. The weather stays the same throughout the year but you might get some rainy weather from the end of February to July. Here that might mean two or three cloudy days with a rare full day of rain.
Now, down south, rain becomes a real problem as flooding and landslides can be quite dangerous.
