Is this a reference to Rio de Janeiro? Or are you talking about something like Vitoria, Recife, Florianapolis etc? My impression of Rio's weather was that it was a little more erratic (and hot) than just a steady 85-90 degrees. I was there in the dead of winter and it was pusing ninety.

Either way I think it might've been my favorite overall city in the world and I'm taking Portuguese right now because there is some thought for us to return for next years "winter" for a few months. Sao Paulo was impressive too, top five food city I've ever been to.

Just went to those two places and Amazonas. Really felt like I didn't do enough, I'd like to check out Bahia, Espirito Santo and the Pantanal if I ever really get the chance again. The south would be great too but I am occupied the best time of year to visit those places.
The further you go south, the more erratic the weather gets.

The seasons are weird in Brazil. To begin with, when the US has winter, Brazil has summer. Autumn for Brazil is the rainy season (maybe some mountainous areas might get some snow but not a lot).

Right now is winter in Brazil which means sunny weather.

Because I am closer to the equator (in Natal), there aren't really much of seasons. The weather stays the same throughout the year but you might get some rainy weather from the end of February to July. Here that might mean two or three cloudy days with a rare full day of rain.

Now, down south, rain becomes a real problem as flooding and landslides can be quite dangerous.

The wok hay was real.. also fat the rice noodles ftw. also went back another time and that guy wasnt working.. the wok hay was suspect and the dish was lacking.. the cook matters i guess

Hey bud, i know we spoke briefly during the conference call with the investors but i hope all is well.

Bears offense has taken a step in the right direction over the last couple days of practice. Weird that all it took was Cole Kmet getting injured for the ball to start moving down the field. Tajae Sharpe(no relation to Colonel William Sharpe) has been making some nice plays.

Also you were totally right about the injured Kyler Gordon.

Ciao from Lake Como.
Is he related to Major Richard Sharpe?

It has come to my attention that there is a jealous one on these boards according to a WhatsApp message I received this morning.

Imagine not sitting out on a terrace answering emails early in the morning and not spending 5-10 minutes to check out the bears while on a biz trip/vacation hybrid.

Someone similar on this board claimed to be in South America and logged in for hours every day for 3 months and is criticizing me for a few minutes every couple days lol.

Anyhoo... outside of the Roquan news, anything happening with the Bears of note?

@greg23 still never been banned and Singapore is not a country in China.

Thanks.
So your Mom moved to Singapore and you didn't want to lose the free basement living?

Long but productive day in the books. Sitting by the pool with a nice cocktail. I see all the typical flyover state slobs are still jealous lmao.

Well, my wife and I have been in Vietnam and you could get a big bowl of Pho for 50K dong which is equivalent to like 2 USD. Here in Singapore, we go get a noodle chicken dish they have and it is 20 SGD which is around 15 USD. Then we are at a good Japanese place and it was well over 300 SGD. I thought it was good but overpriced. Still a good trip.
Vietnam is awesome. Which part did you visit? I spent a month in Da Nang/Hoi An

No, I haven't but I have heard a lot about it. I am not sure that I would want to stay on an island. Too much of a city boy to like that for much time.

This is a video of when I visited the Grand Canyon.

Hanoi for 2 weeks. During that part we went to Ninh Binh and saw island where they shot Kong: Skull Island. Also did boat tour in Ha Long.

Da Nang for only 3 days. Saw Hoi An with those lanterns. Such a badass old school town. Might have been my favorite part. Also went to Banahills park for a day. Great view getting there with those cable cars.

Ho Chi Minh City for 6 weeks. My wife’s parents live there. Crazy crowded city. I could not drive those motor bikes lol.

We both had a ton of unused parental leave when our son was born in January so we used it to travel here for the summer.

Definitely jealous, I’ve missed the international travel the last couple years.

and yeah, I never fucked with the motor bikes, thats just asking for trouble I think lol

i have a friend that lives in Da Nang, he teaches English there and is married with a kid. So we got to go visit him in 2019, just before the pandemic hit. I went to their equivalent of a Vietnam war memorial(obviously not what they call it lol), it was pretty interesting. They even had a full size replica of Ho Chi Minh’s home on the site. Also had some American tanks, jets, etc on display that they had taken during the war.

the “interview” process to get to go in was pretty interesting, too. Basically, any non Vietnamese person that goes has to be questioned by a military official on the base where the memorial is located. They just kinda ask you why you want to go see it and stuff. Fairly certain there were eyes on us periodically as we went through the memorial, but it was all harmless

I will have to check that out next time.

If you ever go back, I recommend seeing those war tunnels they built for hiding and combat. About an hour drive north of HCMC. Wow are they small! And they lived in them for months. Bring long sleeved clothes you don’t care about getting dirty.
