BG has just been the best player over the last 5 years. And is that saying much, no, because the Bulls only have 1 series win to show for it.
The point is that BG should be the third guy on a contending team.
My vision was to have Rose as the best player (which he will be next year whether Gordon stayed or not), add one of those big men and Gordon would have been the third scorer. Or second depending on how much of a scoring load Rose took on. but now you lose a pice in Gordon that will need to be replaces. And if you say Salmons is they guy, okay. But guess what, you'll have to pay him the same next year if he produces like he did in 08/09. And he might be even more because they'll be tons of teams with money to spend next year.
They paid Hinrich, they paid Deng, they paid Nocioni. But for some reason they don't pay the best player of that bunch. Someone needs to tell me how that makes sense?
